I'm so glad you guys are capable of nuanced, critical thinking. I made the mistake of reading the comment section of a local article about Bernie's rally here last weekend and man, I just really lost my faith in humanity. I know this is America and everyone has the right to vote blah blah blah.....but I just find it disconcerting that people who are completely uninformed or misinformed have a voice in the political process.
I lost my faith in humanity along time ago.....It is a lonely world, basically. I don't care....i rather be alone than have the approval of most people....anyway. There are people who are worth my time...just have to find them. I have found a few.
You just have to realize that most people are so traumatized by life that they are clinically insane...and then everything makes sense. And I am not being facetious.
It is a trend on all fronts. Not just Republicans; Democrats will vote for Hillary, if nominated, just because she is a Democrat and people vote for Trump because he isn't a politician. Bernie will not win because he is not slamming Hillary. Unfortunately, he needs to. There is no common sense in politics; folks on both sides are so pigheaded they will vote on brand rather than substance. The two party system is rigged to create separation; there will not be any cross voting for the simple fact it is ingrained in us not to do so. Maybe a question for all the Bernie backers: If he loses the nomination, Do you vote Hillary? Sometimes it is imperative to turn of the comments sections.
I do need to turn off the comment section. The comment section is always the worst of the worst. Personally I do not plan on voting Hillary if she wins the nomination. I generally vote third party in protest of the two party system Also I agree with your assessment 100%
Uhm, socialists do believe in criticism. And as they are human individuals just the same some might even go ad hominem like most other candidates seem to resort to. Do they NEED to shitsling? No, not at all. Btw it has been pointed out before but Bernie is not the kind of socialist that avoids or is against competition as you seem to subtily imply. A socialist can be many things. As a supporter and active participant of democracy it is virtually impossible to be against competition anyway
When I was at the Bernie rally I did find it kind of amusing that this lady was walking around selling Bernie pins, and then another lady came behind her giving out free pins and everyone abandoned the ladies selling the pins. I couldn't resist cracking a joke about Bernie supporters getting their free stuff. I assume ol' 6 eyed was just making a joke. In case you were wondering I came home with 2 free pins that day.
Or they don't care anymore. The voter turnout for any election is piss poor. Hell, CA couldn't even get enough voters to turnout to legalize weed. You can mail in your freaking ballot and people can't even do that. I like these politically oriented comedy videos, but damn, if they aren't getting o close to real life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrAQlJ-fwmY
Actually they believe in a level playing field that guarantees fair competition and healthy capitalism.
Yup. Socialism in the country is so tied to "evil" Communsim. Marx said in the Communist Manifesto that Communism could never work and the best society could strive for is Socialism. But I guess Russia skipped over that part.
I don't think you can make a blanket statement to cover all elections. For instance, if Hillary gets the nomination, many people will vote for her because she's the Democrat. But, it's not because they're towing the party line. It's more to do with preventing Trump from becoming president. And protecting the Supreme Court from an extremist Republican president. Then there are those, like my wife, who can't stomach the thought of voting for Hillary. If Hillary gets the nom, she's said she'll just be writing in Bernie on the ticket. I'm not sure if I'll join her... while I can't stand Hillary, I do admit she'd be better than any of the Republicans. I think. And what are you talking about? Turn OFF the comments? Hells no! That's where you can get a pulse of the underbelly, which over time can give you a sense of trends for different politicians and whatever. (Although, it helps having a strong stomach... which reminds me, time for another swig from my jar of moonshine.)
Please be sure to vote for Bernie Sanders in the primary. America needs Bernie Sanders. Mrs. Clinton is a fascist, but if people don't care to vote we might end up with Clinton and Trump in the general. Fuck that, I don't trust either of those two.
It can also sway you to a particular direction without you even noticing. To add to that, sometimes the comments section CAN be full of trolls, just out to cause misdirection.
I actually think that's true. Liberals like to sponsor rallies, and protests, but don't vote as much as conservatives. I think the reason for this is that conservatives see change as a disruption of their lives, so they tend to vote against anything progressive. Liberals don't vote because they see change as something that is inevitable. Having said this, it's imperative that liberals vote in November. If we get trump, the change that occurs will set us back fifty years. There goes the environment. Gays will have to go back, or remain in the closet. Fuck trump.
