There are more, I was just referring to the one who actually stands a chance at being president.

America's political process is flawed, I think largely in part due to the media circus surrounding the front running candidates, but it doesn't mean good politicians don't exist. They just don't get any attention.

Yeah I know there are more! :) I ment there should be more in the picture, making a chance. To people who don't know much about politics it seem like he and his kind of politics are as weird as his opponents sometimes try to make him appear. His politics are not that weird. But also, I don't like it that every reasonable american voter can only hope on Bernie Sanders. There should be more choice. It's not good to only have hope in one person in this regard.

    I agree. It's a travesty.

Mostly, those people never truly cared about issues, other than Utopia. Think about it! Every fundamentalist religious person is plugged into the political system, as are business people. I actually think it is as if anarchists, Marxists, hippies, etc. are misdirected by right wing influence. Or, their upper class upbringing, in some cases. There is actually a conspiracy theory floating around that says the CIA or a similar group created the hippie movement so as to cripple the anti-war movement.

Anyone not voting should be hot-in-the-face ashamed of themselves.

Sorry to be so blunt, but hey, Ralph Nadar's run in 2000 led to the deaths of over 4,000 service people, by enabling Bush, Cheney, and Wolfowitz to begin a war in Iraq. If you want blood on your hands, don't vote, perhaps?

So... What's your point in quoting my post? I was stating a fact, not making a suggestion.

Nothing personal meant. I quoted your post, Trysonswood, because I'm shocked by people who don't vote. I think to not vote is self-defeating. I don't care how bad the candidates are, the security of the poor, women, coal miners, etc. depends on us having the lesser of 2 evils. It's only politics and will always be politics and that's just how it is. Even if a person believes the future holds more promise, live for today and vote.

And I don't even consider Hillary evil.

I find non-voters overly principled. Please, vote!

That's the dichotomy, the whole idea of "voting against" doesn't really exist. All we can do is vote FOR a candidate, not against them. Sure it SEEMS like voting for someone else is voting against, but it's not. It's still voting FOR somebody. Many times I have thought that being able to cast an actual NO vote might be exactly what the US needs. The person we need in the top seat is the one that survives all the Against votes!

Being stuck with a choice between Hillary and Trump is a nose holder to be sure, they both suck on so many levels. Trump is like Perot on steroids and Hillary has been lying for so long I'm surprised she doesn't call Arkansas an island. This kind of choice makes me respect people who abstain from voting more. Abstaining is the only way to cast a NO vote. Abstaining is what happens when a party props up a useless or unwanted candidate, like John McCain.

Imagine if the republicans hadn't pandered to their overlords back in 2008 by dragging that fossil out on stage at the convention. Fred Thompson would have been a better and likely more popular choice. What if the GOP had picked Alan Keyes in 2008? Instead they propped up Mr. Establishment himself and a huge number of republican voters stayed home. Democrats face that same issue right now. I seriously doubt we'll see democrat voting numbers as high as in 2008.

Clinton. I stand with Sanders in principle, but I pay enough taxes,

I find Trump fascinating because, more than any political figure in contemporary American history, he has no agenda whatsoever other than desire to be president. He doesn't really care for tight borders, or any policy.

He's the Sabre rattling demagogue who would be a perfect fit for Kazakhstan or North Korea .The big question is, how dumb are Americans? Pretty dumb.

Though my gambling moneys on Clinton.

  13. Bottom line: If you're on a hippie forum and you're not standing behind Sanders, you are the most clueless git in the universe.

I think that was 6-eyeds point. He was asking why we 'have' back Sanders just because we are on this forum. Came across as 1/2 sarcastic toward Toasts post and he is right. This forum is very left but doesn't mean we all need to 'conform'.
