Id just finshed two cans of coke when I started reading this post and I remember ranting in glastonbury too, someone had a stand against coke and they were targeting them because they said half a dozen people had been killed by death squads. the links to coke seemed not very strong and from what I could see they were just attacking them because they were a big company and most people knew the name at the time no body seemed concerned with sudan where you had hundreds of thousands of people being sold as slaves mass murder ect ect ect and it just seemed a pretty pointless campaign when there were lots more important issues going on ...... I miss glastonbury
I think most of the things you hear about coke are urban legends started by other soda companies. My friend works for coke. And he starts the same rumors about pepsi.
does anyone have any up-top date info about the boycott nestle? I stopped eating nestle abotu 2 years ago (aside from the odd sweet here and there which i hadnt realised was nestle...like polos!...WHY POLOS!! ...and fruit pastels!! ) but anyway yes i've nopt heared much since about the campaign or ifr it has had any effect. I've got a few other people t ogive up nestle but i feel bad not knowing anything new. The fact is though it has totally opened me up to other snack foods, like FLAP JACKS!!
I gave up Nestle about 6-7 years ago and to be honest I doubt the boycott will have any affect at all as there are so few people who know about it. It's a shame that company awareness is something so hard to come by
omg, it never even crosses my mind to think about the companies wen im buying food. i cant believe theres loadsa dodgy stuff going on. its nasty. and these are just the things we know about too. just think everything we touch has probly been made to the expense of something good. ok that made sense in my head but when i typed it sorry! well, thanks 4 making me more aware. peace x
