I became a dumbass who vote for obama here? and as if voting even matters at this day of age. make fun of Obama what bullshit.
Their non-political bits are decently-funny. The political stuff is only entertaining to people who consider themselves political.
its not a distraction, they make fun of all politicians, but i did enjoy the shows more way back when there was less political stuff and more news news, like better know a district or when they would do a lot of investigative reporting.
Dude, what's with that? As a person of colour you should know better than to say a racially ignorant statement like that, doesn't do anyone any favours, hows that any different to those right wing trailer trash assholes likening Obama to Hitler?
Why cause am still waiting on my bail out check. Obama is a false hope something many see him as a Savior as such.....
i know,right....i have yet to come across anything that could be classified as ''not part of the conspiracy'' also stewart and colbert dont have any responsibility to give both sides to the healthcare debate...watch fox to get the other[bullshit]side
Did you ever think they don't say that because he's black? Okay, but they must make you groan a little. Of course they don't. They can promote whichever side they want. The point is to remember that they're doing just that: promoting a side. The shows are pretty much openly political. All I'm saying is that people should be aware that they're getting more than entertainment when they watch them.
"obama, Beer isn't how you SETTLE racial disputes, Thats how you START them!" LMAO!!! that was hilariously true. colbert and stewart are always ragging about the government, they can get too political because they are on comedy central. they just make stuff funny. colbert is a birther. you can tell because he wouldn't have "wasted" an entire episode on the subject if he didnt have a mesage. even if it was somewhat subtle.
Colbert a 'birther'? Don't make me laugh. All he did for the duration of the episode in question was make fun of the idea and treat his guests like shit.
They never do, because I guess they don't want the show to seem too overtly political. He was clearly mocking the 'birther' movement.
He mocks religion, specifically Christianity, on the show yet he is a Roman Catholic is also a Sunday School teacher. He says what him and his fellow writers think is funny. I do not believe he is a birther, though.
Exactly. I'm not speaking to his personal beliefs, because he's not a real person, as such. Everyone watches the show and becomes acquainted with this character called Stephen Colbert: he doesn't exist. Everyone's aware that he's 'in-character' as a 'right-winger', but it goes deeper than that, because even the sarcastic guy behind that personality is an act. He's a character on a TV show, and he doesn't decide the content of the show. Whoever he is, you'll get no hint of it (or very little) from the show.
Why is he a false hope? He's trying now to reform health care, he closed Guantanamo, and will end combat presence in Iraq by 2010, there's also the intangible change he's made by restoring (to a degree) the image of America in the eyes of the world.
I'm sure a lot of it is racial, even if it isn't, my point was about ignorance, comparing Obama to Hitler or Osama Bin Laden? It's just stupid.
As of right now, comparing Obama to Hitler is hyperbole. By the end of his time in office, however, it may not be. Obama does have the potential to be another Hitler, or something similar. And not because he's black.
