this is true. on the other hand, if one or several people had tried to jump this guy, probably not so many people would have died.
I don't think it's being tough. I think it's a choice between likely death, and a less likely death. Pule logic. It's surely happened many times before in similar situations, and it's too bad that it didn't this time.
nice to see the media handle it with their usual gusto, as irresponsible as that may be... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9jn_qUXtMk"]Newswipe - High School Shooting - YouTube
Which choice would you say is worse? It seems to me that the most likely death is when you rush the shooter. Don't get me wrong, I wish someone had done something, and I don't mean to say that no one's reaction would have been to attack the attacker. I do think it's pretty obvious why a bunch of unarmed civilians didn't rush the heavily armed shooter. I'd like to say that had I been in the situation to do something about it I would have, but the truth is I probably would have shit my pants and curled up in a ball in the corner. I don't want to die, and nobody else does, so when everyone who's running is dying, then your best chance is probably to hide. So sure it would have been nice if someone had stopped him, but I think it's prefectly understandable why no one did, and I certainly don't think any of them deserve and criticism. Not that I'm accusing you of criticizing either. Just pointing out what seems to be the reasoning for these people's actions.
He had an AR-15 with swat gear on... Why would anyone rush him. Let alone someone who was carrying a CW Plus the gas and smoke canisters just made the people panic even more.
Actually, it was the ammo that he bought on line. So, it's two birds with one stone. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-18937726
^ this is exactly what I was gonna say in response to this... How on earth would we be safer if criminals were the only ones to have guns? That's bullshit. And to whoever said that the increase in mass murder has something to do with more availability of firearms.......100+ years ago it was not uncommon for SCHOOL CHILDREN to carry guns to school. Taylors were installing gun holsters into school uniforms. No matter where you went there was bound to be more than one person packing heat. How are guns more available now?
if you think gun sales will stop the use of guns.. you are beyond help... stopping the sale of guns only makes the black market that much bigger and fruitful.. it means that many more criminals will have access to guns than citizens looking to defend themselves.. Also if shit hits the fan.. it gives us.. the people.. the right to defend ourselves from our own government.. since they won't be giving up their guns obviously
I guess this means tighter security at movie theaters for the next couple years. Looks like it'll be impossible to sneak in food, soda, and alcohol to stick it to those high-priced concession stands. That sucks.
This was a staged event all the way. I guess this "loner" with no friends was able to enter the theater because someone let him in. They actually got up, went over to the emergency exit and let him in after the movie began. But I am sure it's just a coincidence, like it always is. http://www.wkyc.com/news/article/25...one-let-gunman-inside-Colorado-movie-theater- How come nobody is talking about this???
Pretending to get a call is a reason to get up, go out, and prop the door. I mean, the guy obviously couldn't have come in in armor and a mask, and then just gone out to get his guns.
I actually feel the parents who took that infant baby to the midnight showing of DKR ought to be sitting in jail right now along with the shooter.
ok a few points I'd like to make: 1. The guy had tactical gear, everybody here who is wondering why somebody didn't rush the guy...you obviously didn't do your research on what actually happened in the heat of the moment there or you wouldn't have said what you did. 2. Of course this is going to reignite the gun law debate, but I have no comment on this issue because it's so complex and you have to understand the laws that already exist, per state, and what loopholes exist and don't before we can fix the problem. Both sides of the pro and con argument have good points that cannot be ignored.
