I like the sun, but sometimes It's so strong along the lake and hits an angle on the path that cuts right into your eyes. The more somber days are a lot easier to take. And the mist on the lake looked magical.
I love red maples. I had a huge one in the yard at my last house. It was gorgeous in the fall. The red maples at the park are flaming too The city planted rows of them to replace the ash trees that succumbed to ash borer which keeps spreading here. So many nice big trees had to be cut down in town. The red maples are young now, but they'll make a beautiful show once they grow.
i like the white rock in that area https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvUy3IhcVGA here is a picture i took a few years ago on the other end of that range (lacloche)
Loved The Bit Where It Was Just About To Go Between Two Trees On The Walking Trail.......And Then Suddenly Cut Off When It Realised They Were Just TOO CLOSE And It Wasn't Going To Happen..... Cheers Glen.
Interesting fungi in one of the trees along the path in the park. The colours are starting at the lake.
That was cool. I want to flyyyyyy. It would be neat to soar over everything like a bird. lol I was kinda hoping they'd attempt it. That was a disappointing segue.
It really cooled down today. We're expecting our first frost tonight. The colours are deepening too. The sun going down was hitting the trees, they were glowing in the light.
I went to a new park today to check out the colours. There was a nice little wooden path by the water where I stopped to snap a few shots. I didn't get a picture of them, but they had different spots with outdoor gyms. It was catered mostly toward handicapped people, several areas had bars and various equipment where they could do exercises from their wheelchairs, with exercise techniques posted about the equipment. There were also sections to do workouts without wheelchairs. I've heard of these but had never seen them before. I didn't want to stop for too long, but I tried a few out while I was there.
Today (now yesterday) I went to Letchworth State Park with my girlfriend to check out the beautiful fall foliage. Letchworth is one of my favorites places to go in the fall. Absolutely beautiful scenery....
When I was out yesterday, there were a gaggle of geese in the water, swimming in formation, the way they do before they take off. There were a lot of people gathered around waiting. I stayed for quite a while, but after they set up so nicely (and even started their honking ritual) they dispersed! "Wait, where's Fred? What? Fred's not here yet? Late again. Ok, at ease." So I left for my sprint and when I came back they were still there. I guess it was so nice, they didn't want to fly south! I finally had to leave so I never did get to see them fly off. I did catch them taking off last year and it was a beautiful sight. In this picture the geese at the left were circling around and getting in line behind the geese already lined up.
its my picture...its an abandoned road in my area ...i took the picture a few hours ago on my way in to walk some trails looking for partridge same place about a month ago
I was out early on the path today, catching the sunrise, just before the rainstorm we were expecting. The fall colours are deepening.
