Keep it open ....sometimes finding the like-minded takes time...but the first few - make it or break it - so stay your course looking for the like of mind.

    Hello Lennonlover,

Can you describe what your area is like and what goal or dreams you have in mind. I, like many others, are searching for a place to call home, who knows, this dream may become a reality, but we need more info. Or PM me if you want more privacy.

    Peace

By “like mind” are you guy referring to..
People who think just like you?
Or people that will do or think what ever you want?

Usually a community is made up of all different types of people. I think what you guys are looking for is a bunch of people that will live UNDER your IDEAS that is called a kingdom.

Sounds very lonely good luck finding people to play that game.

Maybe you guys can study some mind control tactics and make a cult.

I have 120 acres and our house is off-grid. I would like to start a community of people who would like to live independantly from the system of society. Produce our own power, grow crops and livestock, work toward a community that has the foundations of peace and green living.

In response to the post about having different people with different views, yes to an extent. I choose not to surround myself with people who believe in war, greed and sloth. I am interested in people who want to live a better life.

I would love to have people do a land share and build your own homes, a community that works together to add more solar and wind for power. Basically a small green neighborhood dedicated to peace and health.

No religious qualifications, all invited. No sexual hangups between consenting adults. Decisions made by group instead of one leader. All I would ask of anyone is that they do their share of the work and bring your drum.

Well, that sound like a good place to be... can you tell us what the area is like? How much woods? Any creeks for fishing and crayfish? Year round weather...
More details on land share... many just need a room, or a small place to set up a camp, a trailer, or yurt, but all or most will surely pitch in with the work. Most like minds work not for their keep, but to make the community grow and be more functionable, not only environmental or to advance any business to sustain the place, but to make it a place to be free and happy. To be your own individual without the usual criticism from society.
    Peace and love,
    Spirit Wynd

PS- I'll bring my guitar instead of a drum...lol.

I am curious how it is out there? I’m not looking to live on a commune but I was interested in..
    What building codes are there?
    How deep wells are?
And is the water safe to drink?

Is there any cool public land around there?

I live in Boulder right now and I was just interested in places close by especially places with no building codes.

Oregon is a pretty good place to start a commune. It probably has a little more temperate climate than Canada. Don't get me wrong, I'm not dissing Canada, just raising a point is all.

is more suited to what most people would want to look at for land up here...

Anyone regardless of credit history and such can buy land from them on payments that are easy to afford. Keep in mind though, that they actually retain ownership until the land is paid for in total. But they have a cool thing, in that you can start making payments on a property and then later (before taking ownership assuming nothing has been done to the property yet) trade it in on a higher value property with no loss.

As for canada's weather... it may get a little chilly here on occasion ;)

I am starting a floating commune this summer!

we will still go to work, and buy things, just like we do now, but we are going to live rent free, and almost tax free!

I have friends moving from across the country, who are very excited! we aren't going to run out of space, so if any hippies want to come live on the water, get out here!!
