That was a scale of frequency. Frequency is how many times a signal oscillates over time. So something very low frequency like sonar will have a long wave length, a low frequency of around 3hz, and be lowly energetic.

It's a logarithmic scale. 3ghz is lower than the spectrum of visible light which is 1,000,000,000,000,000 hz, and still not harmful.

And the problem is psychosomatic, within your head. You feel sick around electronics because you think you do.

I guess if youre incorporating time as a factor, theyre related.
yeah ok so according to your logic on waves and their effects on a human, raditation isnt harmful either.

The scale from the first post lists frequency. Things, from radios to turtles to nuclear plants emit radiation, as does the sun. How you determine how dangerous the radiation from something is, is by the wavelength. Something with wave of mm like wifi, or meters like radio cannot hit electrons and cause them to break away, which is how radiation poisoning works.

Something like polonium, or a gamma ray, has a very small wavelength, (higher frequency, higher on the first chart I listed. and can do this, and are of course, harmful.

I enjoy your explanations, lode! Very clarifying for radiation noobs (like me) :2thumbsup:

    yeah thanks.
but Id like to hear why you say wifi waves and other waves arent harmful. so what they dont bust electrons apart. they still have an effect on the brain. Im pretty sure I read an actual science publication on this... In fact even the guy that installed my dish internet said repeaters are like super wifi points and could fry your brain or something...

The correct details probably lie in the 'or something' part ;)

yeah as in not physically "fry" but some other damage might be possible, such as depression. which could be psychosomatic, in a way, but not if something influences it.

like the study on plants not growing around wifi...

    Bullshit.

What happens if I put a 9V battery on my tongue? Get a little zap, right? I've actually been zapped by one of these:

And not only did it hurt but it was VERY scary.

I just heard that not too long ago, that bananas are radioactive hahaha

But supposedly, cat poop is toxic.

I never said I agreed with the video. I'm not concerned about computer radiation at all. I do think it is wise to be aware of the energy from wifi and cell phones, especially close proximity to kids and office workers. I mean like 2 feet from a chair, directly on or under someone's desk. It is relatively new technology that hasn't been in homes very long. Just because there's no evidence causing harm right now doesn't mean there won't be something we learn 10 years from now.

Also a blanket statement like "UHF frequency is not harmful", is simply incorrect. There's also amplitude, a powerful UHF signal can boil water, that's not exactly harmless.

From the second edition, from the Forward to the first edition:

"Part II of the book is then concerned with phenomenon that do not involve radiation, while Part III deals with electromagnetic energy which mostly enters living tissue in the form of radiated electromagnetic waves."

So there it is, in brief: ELECTROMAGNETIC ENERGY .. ENTERS LIVING TISSUE IN THE FORM OF RADIATED ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES.

    *high powered magnet*

And I don't care how stupid I look... I'm gettin' me one of those beautiful and enchanting orgone pyramids (and let the placebo effect kick in, super hero!)

The video demonstrates the obvious, WiFi routers put out a constant signal, WOW!!! What ground breaking revelations!
What is nonsensical about it is the laundry list of ailments and problems they want to associate with EMF fields.

I suppose everything lode posted about radiation and wavelengths was either ignored, misunderstood or outright denied.

That's electricity. Electricity is still bad for you, and you should be careful around the power supplies of your electronics. Additionally computers are still electronics which contain many heavy metals such as cadmium which are extremely dangerous within the water supply so must be disposed of properly.

Already addressed the latter part here.

For the former part, I'll concede that anything is possible, but even though the technology is new, the UHF radio spectrum isn't, televisions have been in homes for 60 years.
