    Jesus Christ, interval.

That guy should be hauled off and shot.

The system coddles these guys. I have a ZERO TOLERANCE for rape. ZERO.

At one time in my life, a woman who had answered my personal ad and to whom I had unwisely given my address gained entry into my apartment and was waiting in ambush for me when I returned home at 2:00 AM after a 20-hour work day. She demanded sex. When I refused, she threatened and intimidated me until, exhausted, I finally gave in.

It was not a pleasant experience.

At that time, I was a countercultural pacifist with an aversion to violence, force, and the trappings of authority. Forcefully subduing her or summoning the police were not then part of my behavioral vocabulary. Exhausted from the ordeal she was putting me through as well as a long work day, I saw no option other than to give her what she demanded against my will.

This experience changed my life much more than I might have imagined. I could no longer look at her, or any woman, with the same innocence afterward. I carried a sense of violation in my heart and could no longer see myself as the innocent free spirit I once was.

I ultimately realized I had been raped; not a truly criminal violent rape, but a violation none the less.

I have rarely spoken of this event in my life, and I am now sitting down to tell this story in full for the first time, albeit anonymously over the internet.

IronGoth, I am extremely grateful for your courage in coming out as a man who has been date-raped by a woman. You have given me the courage to come out with my own story. I can forgive and empathise with the rage that seeths through your posts. We are not alone.

I said fucking 1% of reporteds, but guys almost never report. Nobody gives a damn if a guy gets raped, unless its by another guy.

Now they just have to design it.

South Africa has some serious issues and I don't think they will be able to protect their people no matter what they do, in their current state.

We could establish a religion that encourages assassinations of certain people.

THAT is NOT TRUE at all. As a woman who was raped (sodomized repeatedly because I was on my period) I would NEVER want that to happen to any person - man, woman, or child.

I completely understand the shame and humiliation. I was shamed into not reporting it, because I thought it was so disgusting and humiliating that I didn't want ANYONE to know. I didn't want my parents or friends to look or think of me differently. I was so embarrassed, scared, and confused.

I don't think anyone deserves to be violated in such a way. I think most women and men would feel the same.

As far as the device...I'm not sure it will help. Rapists will just start using other holes. Not to mention a woman would have to wear it all the time, is that even practical? Plus, if a woman injures her rapist in that way I imagine that her chances of surviving the assult are greatly diminished...

My comment about the device in question:

I think that the idea is that for it to be an effective deterrent it is not necessary that ALL women wear it ALL the time; It is only necessary that potential rapists are aware of this device, and that SOME women MIGHT be wearing it SOME of the time. The deterent is in the possibility, not the certainty.

I wonder how much their population will drop by when it becomes obtainable.
