That is my one argument for not being married, man is hard wired to go spread the seed. Not that I don't want to be there are other things in a relationship than sex. If you ever watch animals have sex it's like, ok done, and they walk away like nothing happened. Not that I spend my time watching animals have sex that is if you don't count my 200 gigabytes of porn. See this is what masterbation is for.

My reasons for not getting married...
I just got my freedom. I like it. I am not giving it up.
Dont want to have some man think he owns me because I said i do. Telling me what to do and not being allowed to do whatever the fuck I want. I will fly off the fucking handle.
I am too firey and hard headed to be married to someone.
If i ever do get married, it will have to be a really chill dude, and i feel bad for him. Sure, the sex would be explosive, but I still feel bad for the poor bastard.

This is very true. I love doing that for the women. Nothing like it, I wont say it is better than sex but it's close. I got an old girlfriend off once on a long taxi ride, the driver never noticed and she jumped me when we got to the hotel. That was just one of the many time but it was a good one and a fond memory.

You should meet my fiance. I think she is a lot like you. If I had not already been married once before I don't think I would have been the right person for her. As a matter of fact I often tell her that I had to go through that in order to be the right man for her. We both do want we want to, we spend time with each other, we have great sex. When you are with the right person it should never feel like you need "freedom". I am conservative and she is a liberal. We are very much different people but we are also good with each other and we have great debates. It's hard and not so hard to explain. When you are ready, the right man will come your way. I am a firm beliver that there is someone if not more than someone for everybody. It can be like a lightning strike or like the flow of a river wearing away at you. It is just a matter of time. Someone who was not right for you one day might just be that right person the next. If not, then to bad for the men of this world.

iii have to say, there is something kind of beautiful about being on this forum in a u.s. history class. why is there more important discussion going on here than in this class that i've been taking for the last nineteen years of my life in some form or another? has anyone taken u.s. history in another country? because i feel like that would be much more beneficial

and - i would love some cold right now. atlanta's been really confused lately

I wish now, twenty plus years later, that I paid more attention to my US history classes back when I was in high school. It happens to now be one of my favorite subjects to read and study about. Some of the things I could tell you about American History would however not ever be published in any high school history book but they are all tied in with the history of the time so it makes a great refference point.

us history is fascinating, yes, but the way it's taught in georgia is absolutely revolting. there's a huge focus on the military side of it, the "discovery" of the "new world" (problematic with a capital P), the fact that every group that entered said "new world" was an immigrant population. also, it's usually taught top-down. we learn about presidents, the constitution..... but what was going on on the local level? what groups were about? what were the ways of life like for people in different locations throughout the us? we learn very little - and most of it is frighteningly generalized.

i've read some beautiful books on various parts of its history, but there's just too much information for these classes. we come out of them year after year with a scary mentality about our past - there's so much that's being left out. and the key info, the past that maybe we aren't so proud of? that needs to be taught to kids. it really does.

Being a person who lives in Atlanta, I would be willing to bet that you don't even know some of the history of your area. Hell, I once read a great book about this history of Coca-Cola that would make a great soap opera. What do you know about "The Undergroud" other than is is now a mall? Open your eyes and look around once in a while and discover history it is really cool. I of course say this now but when I was your age I was like, that is all in the past man, look to the future. I just find it very interesting.

i think you're missing my point entirely! i'm fascinated by history. in fact, it's my minor in school. however - and this is the big however - i disagree with how it's TAUGHT in schools here. and you're correct, there's a good deal i don't know about the area i live in. however, i am actively engaged in learning about it, and always have been. as a social activist in my local community in addition to the southeast as a whole, i understand just how key history is to the present, and it's always been a passion of mine.

coca-cola is a corrupt entity smack dab in the middle of where i live. scary, scary company, and a lot to dig up on it for sure. very interesting.

i suggest you read my response to you again. :)

I have to agree that public schools have to teach things in a PC way. I would be intrested in how they teach the civil war in the South. I have heard things and I remember my classes on the subject and it was always like the South was wrong and the North saved all the black people. Most peole when asked what the war was about will always say it was about slavery but that was only one small part of the reason why. When I lived in the South I heard things like "The war of Northern Agression" What I liked was that, for once, I really got to hear some of both sides of the story. So much of history is written by the victors and a lot of our southern states are still being oppressed by our country. There is a lot of reasons for this and I don't have time to type that much.

The book I am talking about is "For God, Country and Coca-Cola" it is a great book. I happen to be a big fan of Coca-Cola and have collected a lot of stuff over the years. I read this book and my eyes are now open to that world but I still love coke. Can you even buy a Pepsi in Atlanta? That is my question.

The responce you quoted was written by me before I read your reply. I am glad that you like history. It is important but not for everyone. You are right the focus on all of the dates and places and early history of our country is not written very well and lacks the intrest level to get anyone excited about history in general. I am always up for talking about history. I live in Chicago and I never tire of discovering new things about this city. It has so much history I could spend my whole life just learning about it. Now you want to talk about corrupt.....Chicago wrote the book.

yeah, i believe you have to go through trials and hardships to become the person you are going to be and become mature enough to share your life with a person.

I Love History. I think its one of the subjects i miss the most. History and english.

oops, sorry for jumping on you like that then! yes, you can buy pepsi in atlanta pretty easily, but there are some establishments that sell only coke products. it just depends on the restaurant/store.

not only does it not get people excited, but it often feeds kids information that is waaaay off or far too generalized. there's a lot about the education system that needs to be reworked.

Yeah, this is my argument about most of the younger people. Maturity is key. I got married young, I was only 21 at the time. I can't say that if I were to do it all over again that I would have waited but I will often encourage people to wait. I think that we push our children to much. Let them experience life first and then take on the world. There is so much pushing and preasure to finish school, go to college, get married, have kids so on and such. I like of like some of the Europen mind set but not all of it. I think that after high school you should take a year or two off and learn what you want to do then go to college. I learned more working in the world than I ever did in college. I almost wish I did milatary service first as well. I almost think everyone should. I don't profess to know it all but I have learned a lot in my forty years of life. Experience is key, it's just sad when people do not see the world around them.
