Cops Harassing Me

You are quite correct stereotyping is bad. There are no “typical cops” anymore than there is a “typical freak”. I hope that your brother will be part of the solution. However, police officers who are badge heavy still exist; you and I both know that. We also know that those cops are going to lean hard on what they see as marginal people. These are folks that cannot push back, and that are going to find few friends in court. Young freaks are still seen that way in some places. Oddly enough small towns are often the best place to live. Every one in my little town knows that I am that long hair who goes to all the city council meetings. A lot of them do not care for the fact that I am not in church on Sunday but they know I vote and write letters to the paper. However I am not a student in a large town, nor am I walking around black. Both of which are crimes in middle size cities in parts of Arkansas. There are problems with many of the stories that I hear on this forum and I am sure that some young folks make a few things up to try to fit in with the rest of us. Nevertheless, I have seen first hand a young man harassed by everyone from his teacher to the town cop because he would not go out for basketball. We got that one stopped - more old time freaks around than you would think. Nevertheless, people in this country, of all ages, are still abused by the power structure.

 

you are absolutely right, without a doubt.. I know the majority of cops abuse their power and are corrupt and millions of other things..
But having someone in my family who is a good genuine person be labeled as a "fucking pig" sorta gets to me. And people thinking all cops or bad makes me nervous having my brother be a policeman because someone might do something to hurt him, ya know what I mean..
I know there are hundreds of crooked cops, I know that...
But my brother isnt like that, hes good people and if anything happened to him cause someone hated cops, that would devastate me...ya know..

Speaking of long hairs and cops the funnny part is by the mid 1970s and early 1980s cops no longer harras people for long hair or any kind of stereo type style now in the milinion it seem like we are going back to those 1960s early 1970s the only difrence back then was . traffic tickets were still relative cheap. and drugs CHARGES only got you a very light to none probation. Today you get nail to the CROSS.

 

It seems like between the federal Truth in Sentencing Act and local hysteria. We are going to cure the unemployment problem by having half the population keep the other half locked up.

There are two types of cops, actually. The pieces of shit who like carrying guns and having authority over people, or the morons who feel self-righteous enough to hand out judgement left, right, and centre.

The only serious beatings I have ever taken have come from cops. The only people to ever hold me against my will for nothing have been pigs. Out of the few times I've had guns drawn against me, all but one have been by cops. I've yet to feel safer because the 5-0 are around.

And I'm not a fucking criminal either - I break up fights, not start them, I don't sell drugs, I don't fuck with other people's shit.

So now I get a little amused every time I read about a cop dying.

I carry guns before got nothing to do with that. However the fact that they are and can abuse power is a difrent thing. In Britain for many years cop did not carry a Gun.

 

In Canada it's illegal to carry around firearms except for certain people. Either nobody should be able too, or everyone should. I have no problem with guns, just their exclusive use by cops.
