I do not want to interject myself or make an ass of myself but... One thing I have learned is when you "figure" everything out It flips on ya
control is a vain illusion. we are all victims to fate. if you really truly need a clock built, then it will be built for you. but you you just want a clock built for you then it won't be built.
I never would have pegged you for a determinist, considering how much you talk about karma. I guess I'd better not go downstairs and make myself tea, since that would be impossible
Control is an illusion? Only as much as reality is... As for what we need and want.. i dont really get it. I want lots of things and go out and either get them done or not. Just wanting something doesnt make it happen, but it does not prevent it happening either. As for what I need.. well 'need' is a slippery idea. What does anyone need? Do people need things? anything at all?
I think rather than there being an infinite amount of "things" to "get", there's only one thing that can be gotten, and an infinite amount of filters preventing clarity on that thing.
I feel like I've figured it out as well, or rather, I've come to accept what it is all about. However I dont know that we would agree entirely as to the purpose of psychedelics and the purpose of sober reality, but Im sure most of what we have come to realize is quite similar. Shame that it's for the most part beyond words and simply how you relate to experience, but surely some of our likely equal understandings can be expressed?
Ya, I'm with you on this one. A very difficult concept to put into words. For a number of years now, every trip has brought new clarity for me. Only just recently did I realize that most of the answers that myself and others had been seeking are irrelevant and this was a huge breakthrough as my mind became so much clearer. Personally, I've found that loving relationships with friends and family are the best source for enlightening experience. Psychedelic trips and meditation are also very important but without love in our lives these things have little value in the end. When we learn to live in love and honesty everything becomes so clear and it seems there will always be something to learn and experience. Religious text is merely gossip, trust in yourself and follow your heart as you have all the answers you need to experience what you must as you learn a little more.
i wouldn't say that control is an illusion in the same sense that reality is an illusion. control is something we think we have, but honestly don't -- within the bounds of reality. what we need is determined by our karma.
I want breakfast right now. I also, in as real a sense as you can think of, need breakfast. That is, if I neglect to eat my meals every day, I would eventually die. Needing something not to die is as real as need gets, I think you'll agree. There's no need greater. Every other need pales. SO. I both need, and want, breakfast. Will I get it? Hint: you're just verbally masturbating Go eat breakfast.
lol. i'd say that if it was your karma to live, then you would get breakfast. if it was your karma to die, then what you need is to die, so you would not get breakfast.
You're using the word "karma" when you should be using the word "fate". I understand that for some reason you think the two are the same thing, but if you pick up a dictionary, you'll see that karma means something very different from fate.
fate depicts that an event is determined to happen. karma depicts that an event is determined to happen for a reason. i used the word karma because fate does not depict the idea that what happens to us happens for a reason. i used the word quite correctly.
Why do you say that fate does not have reasons? Haha, never mind. I can't take this conversation seriously anymore, sorry. enjoy your world of fate and karma and this and that and oh me oh my
i would say that control, or, free will, is actually the exact same illusion as is reality. neither can be said to trully exist but we hold on to both just the same
Well I think that if you think less while your triping its like thinking more, in other words less is more
Get one of your friends to smash your kneecaps with a sledgehammer and feel how real this so-called illusion really is!
No one ever thinks in philosophy mode when they are in intense pain. funny. guess we forgot about God again guys?
