Creeperville vs. Compliments

so this was my idea to replace the thumbs up/thumbs down function but nobody commented, as you can see, there is a 'show me your tits' icon..

Creepy is when it makes the other person uncomfortable, even if it was not intended to.

Often it will also make others reading a thread uncomfortable.

I think it is creepy when somebody 'compliments' a person all of the time. Like, everytime they post a pic somewhere on the forum - even if it's only a few days apart. We get it, you think the person is attractive/cute etc - enough already. Compliments, imho, are infrequent remarks based on varying situations.

 

LOL. I bet some of the intro page crowd are wellknown/ "regular posters" elsewhere eg at Random Thoughts. Infact some of the wellknowns are pretty creepy. Thats what I mean by "one or two".

I don't think the people complimenting are creepy. I think you often see people being manipulated into it. The creepiness is the attention whoring and associated games that induces it. I find that really sad.

The Tone Of Voice, And The Manner In Which It Is Delivered...

Not compliments per se. The frequency. If people are seeking attention, and receiving attention - then it might be sad - but it isn't creepy. I guess my e.g was only a slight annoyance for me, rather than full on creepy. NZ Male is my definition of creepy.

the only "creeperville" to me, is when people are inconsiderate.

 

Well I think that numerous people are extremely beautiful inside and out, yet hardly ever get compliments on forums.

Then there are others who bitch and abuse, even get banned for it. And certainly aren't the "good on the inside and out" type. Yet they DO get a disproportionate amt of compliments/ appreciation threads etc. Why is that? A result of lobbying, obsessive pr, schmoozing and general manipulation IMO.

To me, creepy means sneaky, insincere, underhand and generally make you think "yuk". Sociopathy is another word. The thing that creates a tediously unnecessary level of compliments.

I guess most of the creepiness we never get to see/read.

 

Consider it creepy until they prove otherwise. Usually that talk about boners dont have much hope.
