Crazy people! Sounds like i may have started my journey on the wrong forums, how come your new account isnt gettin banned?
well to clarify.. i was supporting the idea at 1st, even contributed the 1srt 20 bucks to help get it started but then was talking to skip about it and saw his opoint that there was no reason to create a competing site when a few simple adjustments here like renaming the forum would accomplish so much more. skip knows his shit which is why this sites got such a huge number of members and 10 times that many lurkers. dt has just a small handful of ppl besides the ones who were banned. and it wasnt so much just the fact that they created the site but the way ppl were reacting (like calling mods and admins nazis, questioning bannings and so on, all things directly against the rules, not only that, but ban evasion (creatting new profiles to get around being banned" and stuff just to come hjere and pm or post threwsds advertising dt's site. they actively tried getting almost everyone who posted here to leave and go there. who remembers that lil 15 year old kid from there that came here just to 1st advertise that site then 2nd badmouthanyone here, especialy the mods. im not saying everyone desseeved banning..not saying that at all i loved alotta those ppl and miss em alot but many did seriusky overreacte..and react badly and if they just tried listening to the reasoning behind it it made perfect sence. why create a site that at best will struggle to keep as handful of members when we already have 1 thats massive and thriving has been here for many many years..and comes up the highest in search engines ( in most cases) (unfortunately sometimes it comes up highest when ya dont want it too..lol i dunno how many dangerouse threads ive seen in certain forums that i had to go warn em about, specificaly masterbation forum, therre was 1, "i wanna masterbate on webcam for you, i can prove im not an adult" and if u googled webcammasterbation guess what came up 1st and the dumbasses all put theyre msn addrethe thread sorry off track here..lol my point is. skip did an amazing job..when ppl name the threads right, they come up at the top of searches. no site just starting out could compete..and why should they try? he was willing to make any changedss we thouight wed need to get the message out there. and he did..changing the namr had me create that thread we can create a dreadlocks group if we want tiio and have much more control over the look and feel of the group homepage. he was working on many improvements to the site at the same time as all this, that were designed to do just what they wanted to do with dt. and when he tried explaining why he couldnt just let them do this (including fundraising here to statt a compertintg site) instead of acting reasonably thety went into overreacte mode started fighting him, acting like kids till it came to the point where skip had to monitor this forum 24 hours a day to control the piytbustrsts the negative attacks the skips a nazi posts and the pm's "this sitr sux theyre nazis come join dt.com" im not saying they were guiltng but overreacting and not being understanding abnd coperative. its a shame that it all came to that.
things settled down here somewhat and skips got 400+ other forums to pay attention to many are much bigger pronblems then this..so basicly shes gone unnoticed all i hacve to say is she should not let her bf post on herr account again or she probly would be noone reported him when he did, but certainly could have but really theres far far far worse things to worry bout here theres an admitted rapist child molester and possible murderer here whos been hrere for years posting all sorts of sick shit theres been dstalkers and pervs and psychos of all sorts that are more important to keep an eye on. theres thousands and thousands of ppl here and yea some real creepsters. the dt thing wass just a headache for a couple weeks but not a magor problem..just some p;l causing probs when they shoulda been tslking bout solutions thats all
so the root of all the drama surrounding SE and all you who dislike him was over the start up of a new site? It makes sense that Skip would ban those trying to convert members to another site...its just bussiness right? So you all are mad at SE because he backed out at the last minute and decided not to help in making the other site because he liked it here? That doesnt make sense.
struggle for members? i wish there were fewer members on dlt, i cant keep up with evreryone. im pretty sure it has more regular posters than this dreadlocks forum. and we created it because we are friends and wanted somewhere to hang out. since we were all banned from here... lmfao. i dont think i have to explain why thats funny. read my words. we never wanted to compete and we still dont. we wernt even going to have a forum, we intended to bring more traffic to this site by reffering people. really? this site has pages of tutorials and articles and faqs about dreads? because thats what dlt has and thats all it was ever going to be. that was the plan. not to compete with hf, or replace it in any way. there would have been links to this forum to help bring traffic here. as for being banned, im rather surprised that im not already but i guess im under the radar for the time being. i dont care much, i mostly come here out of boredom.
hahaha no. when did i say that? i will not speak for anyone else on our forum, i cant say who hates him and who doesnt or why. im really glad he stayed here to be skips butt buddy. i dont want him where i hang out and post personal shit. and its for completely different reasons which you probably dont care about and i wont outline here.
What I wrote above is what I got from SE's blurp. I am curious why so many people are just absolutely appalled with SE. I dont understand. People like to come here and bitch about SE but nobody feels comfortable discussing the root of it all. What the hell happened??!!! Argh.

yeas mandy id like to know the same, ive tried pm'ing ppl askimg why , not 1 would respond..they like to cause alotta rtrouble openly where everyone can see but ya try asking em to explain privately and they refuse to respond (well except 1 did, we had a nice long talk and it turned out he was reacting to rumors started by a mod, all surrounding this issue..i was extreemely hionnest with him like i usualy am with everyone and probly told him waty way more then he needed to hear and in the end decided to give me the benifit of doubt...havent heard a word from him since (unless this was the samje guy that is..lol) but doubt it, at least that 1 kept everything to private messages and never made up lies he just tiold me what hed heard and how he felt about it..which i understood i was sickened when i heard what this mod was saying. This is all so bizarre. Well re the DT vs here stuff... surely there's plenty of room on the internet for sites providing good dreadlock information. The more the better, in fact. We're always going on about KB and DHHQ dominating search engine results, and easily fooling many with their good design and marketing. We need a greater number of well-presented sites explaining that dreadlocks absolutely don't need a bunch of products. Firstly, it will improve the chance of a search engine landing on something other than a company and secondly, when people are researching, if they find several professional-looking sites, not selling products, and all confirming similar views about dreadlocks, they are more likely to be convinced into not taking the dread-kit route. Surely? Forums aside - when I recently discovered Dreadlock Truth, I suddenly felt a little hopeless. I thought a) there's no way my site can compete with this and b) what's the point in me putting any more time and effort in if everything is here already? (I know it's all in the forums too, but not everyone is with it on the whole forum thing). Luckily I instantly realised I was thinking backwards, for the reasons I just stated above. I emailed Slang to say how nice it was to see another good-looking dread site in development. My site doesn't even make me money, in fact I'm making a loss, and a lot of time has gone into it. I just wanted to provide useful info for people. It's a shame I began via the dread-kit method, because now I wish I could have documented a productless journey. I'm still going to carry on and develop some really good in-depth sections about dreading methods and so on, with plenty of links to here and DT too, because I think the internet still has a big gap for it. It's not meant to be about money...
exactly amy, thats the same idea slang had in mind. not everybody wants to or knows how to sift through forums for information, it has to be made readily available. the one time she asked for donations before she was banned (id hardly call it fund raising) it was to pay for the domain. and i completely agree, the internet needs more good, not for profit sites on the subject. and dlt isnt perfect either, we still have a lot of work to do. half the links dont go anywhere because we just dont have the content together yet. i think its really cool becuase its not just one person writing it. like each article is by a different person, and we can all edit them and suggest changes and every member can contribute something. i think it makes for a very objective, unbiased site.
Yeah I really like the potential DT has, even though many pages are work-in-progress at the moment, I think it's going to be excellent
yea i sgree amuy and when this was all going on i had long long long conversations with skip trying to explasin thosde points exactly i was on the verge of being banned right along with everyone trying to explain that logic but what really came down ti being the final straw was 2 things really 1 was they were fundraising here in order to make it, and, advertising it here both unacceptible. then 2nd was tghe reactions. at 1st iot was just a couple bans not perma bansds, but i dont know for sure if a duration was specified they coulda been a weekend to a 10 day ban if things hadnt then gotten outta control. there was thread after thread after thread made about it many getting very abusive towards skip asnd mods as usual the term nazi was being tossed around by a buncha ppl just acting out throwing tantrums. it got so bad that the second skip would delete 3-4 abusive or advertising threads 3-4 more would pop up so..the perma banning began i believe at this point alotta bans were stiolo temporary unless they ban evaded meanning comming back under other names to stir up more trouble then they werere perma banned (frunning a site this ghuge is enough work withiut having to babysit the users too) so aftrer the 1st round of perma bans some came back and insreasd of postimg started mass pm's telling ppl to leavge here and go there because skips a nazi odviosly som,eone made skip aware of this so he checked other pm's to see if its true then banned the onessrnding all in all it became a huge massive headache for skip. who can blame him for manning ppl who were causing so much extra work for him for like a couple weeks he had to pay attebntion to this forum all day and night deleting thread after thread after thread. be happy he didnt close the forum like he did with randim thoughts and young hippies when they wrre acting up so bad (actuasly young hippies became whiners) all i can say is i sure wouldnt want skips job and if i did have it, i wouldnt put up with 1/2 the shit he puts up with. he creatted this awesome site for us all, that operates at a loss even with the subscribers he barely covers 1/2 the cost (and he has his book here too for free making no royalties on it aft all) all that and so many are so ungrateful..calling him nazis.. acting like they own the site and he should behave the way they say he should just because they want to be here and act all stupid. most of ya have no clue at all the amount of shit hes gotta deal with,, you have no idea how many actual creeps there are on here over the years ive helped get ..hmm 15-20 super creeps banned that were being really abusive or worse and theres still several here that are way way way beyond creepy, but cant be banned cause they techniicaly havent broken any rules. skips usualy overly fair theres some here im sure hed love to see banned or better yet jailed but hes bound by his own rules so cant do anything but cooperate with the law enforcment if theyre brought in to inverstigate. unfortunately with the 1 most dangerouse one the cops and fbi had been called dozens of times and they really got nowhere with the investigation..and hes still here (this was an admitted molester rapist who truied to kill a family, and nowe probably did (he hinted at wanting to cinfess his murder to his lover (who is his 15 year old cousin..who he hates and wants to kill, and im 90% sure was the 1st 1 he wanted to rape when he 1st posted here) he admito molesting his aunt, and her 3 month old daughter..and to raping someone too ..also hiding in a closet with a knofe just to see what it would feel like to murder a family..but he was luckily caught and chased out with as bat, but wasnt caufgt by the cops) wait i went way off subject herre lol too damn tired my point is there are ppl like him here there are all sorts of creepers lurking in the shasdoews ive had dozens of freinds point them out to me asking my help to deal with em. skips got sooo much work to do rounfd here to keep this place safe for all the last thing he needs ids ppl acting up calling him a nazi and making more work for him. im sorry so many were banned permenantly..but..i understand why they were i begged them to try behaving but just wasjnt gonna happen. goodnight
