Illenium plays guitar? I had no idea his show was so involved.



My favorite of his is the new-ish track w/ Jon Bellion "Good Things Fall Apart". But this show demonstrates a seldom seen ethic in EDM & DJ music. Very cool to see!

Are you referring to playing live instruments?

I seem to recall you mentioned Paul Van Dyk playing guitar or something, maybe about a week ago. I saw PVD play with a live band one of the times I've seen him, although I don't recall him playing guitar. Unfortunately he followed The Chemical Brothers who were playing live on sequencers and stuff and they were on another level that night so I found PVD rather pedestrian after.

In the way raves are generally set up, it makes sense why there isn't much live music, as the music is usually continuous so one person can get on the decks following the previous without having to have soundchecks to set up live instruments.

I've noticed that live performances from EDM artists tend to happen at festivals where there are some intermissions between sets or venues that generally house bands that play rock or other music with live instrumentation.
