DANGEROUS "Holy Roller" mentality

Yes they were. Then more were discovered, pared over, dissected, interpretated, and reprinted. The caveat is that through interpretation and rewriting a lot of meaning is changed. Much to suit ones own agenda. That's where the dangerous part intervenes. Many of the writing are taken out of context. A full passage has a meaning. A sentence within the passage can have a different meaning by itself.

And I only wish I felt differently.............

 

My wife's churchy vanilla ways have led to us not even sleeping together or having sex hardly any more. I love her, but she is not open minded, and just doesn't have that naughty/sexy mentality. And as I get older, I find myself gravitating towards wanting another man like myself going through the same thing so we can help each other out. Religion and sex don't mix in our household. Your mileage may vary.

 

That may be so since a fascist is running the country now but I'm too old to be worried about holy rollers and their tired-assed religious-based mentality and... if you don't know what you're talking about - and you don't - shut the fuck up and go bother somebody else. After a while, you get tired of getting preached to and preached at and over a lot of shit that life, and its very stark reality, doesn't give a flying fuck about and, well, just a matter of what's more believable and I know what that is...

Just heard a bulletin on the news that, in Madison, Wisconsin, there has been (another) mass school shooting (this one at a Christian school); three are dead, five wounded......all JUVENILES.

Sadly, the one who pulled the trigger (also dead) was also a juvenile.

WHERE do these "juveniles" (like their deranged adult counterparts) get firearms so easliy?

I'm waiting to hear how the "holy rollers" will explain this sick, sad mass school shooting...........my heart and prayers go out to all involved........

I've been thinking about your question about how they'd explain this and I'm not sure if they'd "explain" it so much as they could possibly pitch a bitch and imply that their religious school was singled out by extremists who co-opted the shooter to go in and put "infidels" to death and other extremist-like drivel. This is probably a bit of a non-issue because the bigger question - outside of why did this girl go postal on her school - is how she got her hands on a weapon and what was her online presence like, who had she been talking to, stuff like that, to convince her that shooting up her school - then taking herself out - was a "good idea."

We see yet another school shooting that won't be solved because of speculation as to the shooter's motive while not really questioning - again - where did the shooter get their weapon or weapons and how did they get them and, really, as a secondary adjunct or concern, once again exposes some very serious flaws in how the Second Amendment continues to be interpreted. We should be very damned concerned about the shit that's going on with this country that it's creating domestic terrorists and subverting American youth. And we need to find a way to shut this the fuck down or we lose touch with what being American means - and fuck Donald Trump's MAGA bullshit.

Axes to grind? Perhaps. Believing that they have the right to solve their issues with a gun and taking innocent lives and all because they feel... some kind of way that doesn't make a lot of sense and, as such, believing that their only recourse to whatever "injustices" or slights they've experienced is to grab a gun and go on a shooting spree... and then, take the cowardly way out so you don't have to pay for the crime you committed - but leaving behind a family whose lives are now forever ruined... and for what?

We'll never really know why she did it. I wonder if her parents will be charged for those murders and other crimes she committed... and is that what should happen in these cases and situations? What has it got to do with holy rollers? Fuck if I know...

In any event, too many kids are being influenced (and NOT in a good way) by too much exposure to social media garbage ("Assembling Ghost Guns For Dummies")?

I treuly believe that MORE parents need to be MORE vigilant regarding their children's internet time....and WHAT sites they are visiting.

All I know is that, these days, TOO MANY people (regardless of age) have access to firearms.........and, sad to say, I truly feel that this ugly situation will continue to fester, before it even begins to heal.

And look at how many sickening, deadly shootings have taken places in houses of worship.......nowhere is safe today.......

 

She got the gun from somewhere or someone... unless she 3D printed it out of her ass. Ah, but let a Senator or Congressperson's child get shot and/or killed... and see how fast gun reform gets enacted and in ways that'll piss the NRA off something fierce...

speaking of "holy rollers", i remember reading about a church that was formed in the 60's whose membership was exclusively gay/bi men. now that's a church i would love to join

 

At least, in such a church, there would be NO discrimination or feeling of exclusion, nor would there be any "preaching intolerance in Jesus' name"..............
