As long as there's one person who believes in this stagnant behavior, we will never be rid of it. I get that we're talking about beliefs and because we fear our mortality, we cling to religious beliefs about an afterlife and other such things that some folks feel they need to interpret it in ways that are controlling and financially profitable while preying on our fears and need to believe in something. To that end, we're like the cave dwellers, huddling together against a storm or trembling in fear over the predator outside the entrance to our cave and in a time where there was little hope for our continued survival... then along comes religion and changes the face of everything and we're stuck in that ancient period of change, well, except for those of us who call bullshit on religion and prefer to face the truths of our existence. We have, indeed, advanced in a great many ways - just not this one all that much. Changes in this are glacially slow and, in some respects, things are 'better' now than 100 years ago but on the whole, not all that much better since we still cling to beliefs that make little sense in the 21st century. We know it because how can we not know it? We try to move away from it but, again, as long as there's one person who continues to believe in all of the negative shit that afflicts us as a species, we will remain stagnant.
KD23: Again, another excellent "right on the mark" response. Sad that having an open mind and simple common sense seems to becoming more and more elusive, the deeper we get into the 21st century..........
Behind closed doors Billy g was most likely swallowing sausage with the best of them, in line with the rest of his hypocrisy.
