Excellent thread idea. I, when reading, "hear" what I think someone might sound like, I, "see" what I assume they look like. I have met someone on these forums and he is a total sweetheart and that might surprise those who have not meet him. There is another member who I have corresponded with past the point of boards and who I respect with all that I am. I think many would be surprised to see the other side of this person. Dark Suger, I see the little wart on the end of your nose and think is as cute as a button. Half the fun of opening a gift is what is underneath the tissue.
none of us are who we seem to be unless of course you imagine me as a giant teddy bear who will constantly try to hump your leg
Don't make me swat you! I think we all have preconceived notions of who people are and what the sound like. Maybe human nature in that we can then on our own turf identify with others. It may not be a bad thing in some ways as sometimes if you sit it out a bit you get a better feel for a person and understand more where they are and your responses change based upon that. I am sure I am not the only person who when they read a post assign a voice to it...........oh damn maybe I am.
I Do That, Then They Post A Video Of Themselves And My Image Falls In A Crumpled Heap... Cheers Glen.
Is that because we also hide who we are or is it that as we do not want people to know who we are? Deep down we all know that transparency means we open up to others judgments of who we are. We put forth what is favorable rather than the whole package. The measure of true character is that we accept all as they are for their warts and all. I think many hide to conform to what we believe people want us to be and when someone posts and shares from what is not what people think, it is a moment of ideals and preconceived notions against reality. Shakes us all up.....maybe in the long run in a good way as we all have our own issues we project onto others. We think we know but we only correlate from our own core and decide from there, unless something makes us think a little more. Then again, what do I know?
I AM......And As I Posted Here Months Ago, If Any Of You Were To Ring My Doorbell In 10 Seconds Time, You Would Find The Exact Person I Am Here, With All The Proof Of All The Stories I Have Told .... Why Would I Pretend To Be Someone Else, When I Am Quite Content To Be "Simple Old Me"....? Cheers Glen. EDIT:- Note To Readers Of The Above Post, Please Delete The Words "Simple" And "Old", They Are Typo's And I Blame Modern Technology *not me* For The Slip Up....
