The tap here at my parents house is great, but you couldn't pay me to drink out of the taps in Florida where I've been going to school for years now. Bleah. I had a filter on my faucet down there, and I would fill up a Britta pitcher from the faucet filter lol. I don't like the city water here either though. My grandparents just up the road have the city water, and it always smells slightly of bleach...freaks me out. My parents' well water is just so clean tasting. Best water I've ever had. We live in the foothills of mountains though . That's usually a good area for water I think. I don't drink much bottled water, but when I do it's usually just whatever the store brand is. I used to drink only Aquafina though, that and Zephyrhills (which at least has a toned down FL taste...which is still better than the tap).
http://www.responsibleshopper.org/basic.cfm?cusip=191216 this is an interesting link which tells about cokes' activities..... adelic - you have some great elementals in that photograph! Great to see nature beings showing up more!
What sucks is coke has contracts everywhere so many restaurants and stuff will give you Dasani when you buy a bottle of water. I hate the idea of buying anything from coke. I filter my water at home, but I always suspect it's not really clean enough.Sucks to live in such scary times. PS I had E coli once, not from water but I think bad strawberries, its an awful awful way to spend a weekend, man.
Yeah as far as I'm concerned it's produced by the Coca-Cola Company. My uncle works at the plant here in WI, and he said he would never drink Dasani... he claims that shit eats away at their machines even more so than the actual Cola does. Who's to say whether he's just being a big story teller or not, but now I stick to other bottled water instead...
well, they say it's mineral enhanced...so they just put salt in it i guess so it makes you thirstier and think you're drinking somethign extra healthy
Taken from Hoover's: Coke is it -- "it" being the world's top soft-drink company. The Coca-Cola Company owns four of the top five soft-drink brands (Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Fanta, and Sprite). Among its other brands are Barq's, Fruitopia, Minute Maid, POWERade, and Dasani water. In North America, it sells Groupe Danone's spring water brands (Evian, Dannon, and Sparkletts). Coca-Cola sells Crush, Dr Pepper, and Schweppes outside Australia, Europe, and North America. The firm sells about 400 drink brands, including coffees, juices, sports drinks, and teas, in about 200 nations. Although it does no bottling itself, the company owns about 36% of Coca-Cola Enterprises, the largest Coke bottler in the world .... The scientists and the suits at The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) concoct the secret recipes and market the brands, but Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE) does much of the bottling and distribution of the soft drinks. The world's #1 Coke bottler, CCE accounts for 21% of worldwide sales of Coca-Cola's beverages. CCE also bottles and distributes other beverages, including Canada Dry, Dr Pepper, Nestea, bottled waters, and juices. It sells soft drinks in 46 US states, the District of Columbia, Canada, and six European nations, including France and Great Britain. The company's territories consist of more than 400 million potential customers. The Coca-Cola Company owns 36% of CCE. ...... You say Danone, I say Dannon; let's call the whole thing one of the largest food producers in the world. Groupe Danone is the global leader in cultured dairy products (including yogurt, cheese, and dairy desserts) and major producer of biscuits with its LU cookies and crackers. Its Evian, Volvic, Aqua, and other brands make it #2 in bottled water (behind Nestlé). Danone has dozens of regional and international brands, including Dannon yogurt (US), and Amoy, HP and Lea & Perrins sauces. The company is organized around three core activities: fresh dairy products, beverages, and biscuits and cereal. ..... With instant coffee, baby formula, and bottled water in the mix, Nestlé's crunches more than just chocolate. The world's #1 food company in terms of sales, Nestlé is the world leader in coffee (Nescafé). It is also one of the world's largest bottled water (Perrier) and baby-food makers. Its 2001 purchase of Ralston Purina made it a top player in the pet food business. Ranging from kitty kibble to pasta, chocolate, and dairy products, its most well-known global brands include Buitoni, Friskies, Maggi, Nescafé, Nestea, and Nestlé. In addition to food products, Nestlé owns about 75% of Alcon Inc. (ophthalmic drugs, contact-lens solutions, and equipment for ocular surgery) and almost 27% of cosmetic giant L'Oréal.
