Well ride the propoganda wagon all you want buddy, in fact quite a few studies point to it as a terminus rather than a gateway. If you can't discern between getting high on pot,and shooting up, you're just a fucking dolt, that's all.

As far as it getting boring, yeah, drop it for awhile man. I used to put away over two ounces a week, then I quit for a long time, now it's like this every other month thing. I love it. When I get high, I'm wayyyyyyyyy high.

I had my first cigarette before my first puff of pot...And my first drink, or my first dose of caffeine...O and theres chocolate, thats loaded will mood altering chemicals. How about cough syrup when I was a sick lil' boy?

 

It is. Its not a propaganda term or anything, it can be the case. But if your not a dumbass and your smart, you can stick to pot. Im not saying that smoking grass will make you shoot up, im not saying that at all. But in a alot of cases, that ive seen firsthand, people who are in NA with me are used weed before anything else.

 

Personally i think Marijuana is only a gateway drug if the user is relying on it.

I guess I've smoked pot almost every day for about 10 yrs now and I still love it.A spliff after work and a few after dinner with some good music is extremely relaxing. As for it being a gateway drug, it could be,I suppose, for someone of a curious disposition, but as a former speed freak and alcoholic as well as experimenter with almost anything you care to mention I find myself more and more just into weed (with the occasional shroom thrown in) so I guess I'm trying to say that for me it's an end in itself rather than a doorway into the "horrors of drug addiction"

Thats what im saying Insight. Marjuana can be a gateway drug and hte majority of people let that same hting happen. THis is where someone tells me "to hang out with diffrent people." These forums have become so damn typical.

 

when ive been smoking every day for a while, the experience feels less exciting and interesting. then i might be forced into a break for a few days or week or so and then ill get high again and ill remember why i smoked in the first place and keey smoking each day again heheeh


It appears that the gateway affect occurs to users who want to take the feelings from their drugs and not use them to actively enjoy the world differently.

the gateway effect in my oppinion IS there (not forced though, just increased likelyhood) with weed but its beacuse its illegal and classed as a 'drug' alongSIDE meth and coke and smack, unlike a 'culturally acceptable inebriant' such as alchohol.

the fact that its thought of as a 'drug' and not just as 'weed' (like alchohol is thougth of as just.. alchohol.. and not a drug, which it of course is) is what leads people (generally teenagers to young adults) to move on to other drugs, since they obviosuly use drugs to get wridden off.
