Dangermoose, I appreciate what you have said. I'd rather be looking over my shoulder when walking through a dark alley than being stabbed in the back while I was oblivious to the danger. And the world these days is looking more and more like a dark alley.

For the last three days the question has been haunting my thoughts - is it possible for humankind to deliberately initiate an earthquake.

Also, re DoggoD's post, I have heard that the reason we now hear so little about the dumping of toxic, nuclear waste is that they are dumping it in fault lines. I hoped beyond hope that this was fiction and not fact, as it is hard to believe that anyone could be so stupid, knowing these are UNSTABLE. Thanks for the links, I will peruse them with GREAT interest.

    Love you all...Goddess

The story I read about the earthquakes in Colorado, and the Navy base in the tsunami zone were both from good sources. I will try to find them again, but just so you know, I get all my news from either CNN.com or MSNBC.com, those are the only news websites I view. The links I posted were the results from google, I did a search just so I had some material to post while I try to track down the articles from the sources I first found them at.

I found one of them..... this is from MSNBC:
"In 1961, the Army drilled a 12,000-foot disposal well at its Rocky Mountain Arsenal in Colorado, northeast of Denver. Beginning in March 1962, waste fluids from arsenal operations were dumped down the well.

Then a funny thing happened: An unusual series of earthquakes broke out in the area."

    Here is the complete article:

Here is the one about the Navy base

Thanks DoggoD...you are a legend. This is getting kinda scary. Coz what if the garbage they are depositing in the earth IS making it even more unstable, and what happens to the stuff (eg radioactive) when it leaks out into the streams and in the oceans? We won't have a hope.

Everyone seems so set against a world government, but realistically the only way to protect our planet, is to have exactly that.
Has anyone heard of the spaceship earth theory, basically it says, if we as a species are not willing to work together to maintain what is effectively our spaceship earth. then we are doooooomed !!!!!

I agree with the doomed part, mankind certanly has no future on our current course. As painfull as it would be, I sometimes secretly desire an event that would turn us back to more simple times. I love movies like Dawn of the Dead, and The Stand. A fresh start would be nice.

maybe on 2012 instead of extinction, we will start over again, and all our buildings will be like the pyramids to us, and all of our possesions will become artifacts. a fresh start would be nice in a way.
