Yeah I know, and I believe SAFER sued to have that language changed, but that was denied by the court under no grounds for jurisdiction. i think it is only a felony if they are under 15. But the point of SAFER is responsible adult recreational use; not high school use.

well currently mike, its failing. the latest number with 26% reporting was 62-38 AGAINST it, we'll see the more precints that report the better the amend is doing. at one point I saw 66-34, so we'll see. 9news.com has up to date info if you want to keep your own eye on it, but I'll be up watching all the election coverage for another couple of hours....What I found interesting is in BOULDER county, the amend is split 50-50 with the yes votes only having about 200 more out of a 54,500 votes (but that's only 30% of the precints)

as more precints come in, both Colorado and Nevada, are showing a closing of the gap. However, I'm afraid neither one will be succesful THIS year. The Denver media has already declared that amend 44 failed. however, as much i really wanted to see these measures pass, it is clear that progress was made. I think within the next 5 years this issue will resurface if not sooner and it will eventually pass. Amend 44 got people talking about marijuana, the positives and the negatives, but i think people are starting to realize the positives of marijuana and the lack of dangers they were raised to believe were inherent in the herbl. Even if the measures didn't pass, I believe there's still a win in it for use pro-marijuana folks, smokers or not.

Agreed. where there any other marijuana related topics being voted on in the united states besides nevada and colorado, and also does the outcome of this affect what Denver already passed previously?

I have not heard of any other major marijuana related legislation across the nation, either recreational or medicinal. Just because I have not heard about it, does not mean it didn't exist, but I'm pretty sure these were the only two.

About denver's previously passed law it does and doesn't have an effect. The Denver law was just like the proposed amendment. However, cops in Denver could enforce the state code, so they could still give you the $100 fine for less than an ounce possession. had 44 passed then they could no longer do this since they can't enforce federal code, only state law. The Denver law still stands on the book, so it is technically legal to possess in Denver, but odds are heavily iin favor of you being fined under state code

All I got to say, is this is not only bad for one state but all states.

Once again on this topic California and Alaska are alone.

    9 states selling medical pot.

8 states avg 2-3 per state making the sick driver up to 500miles.

The 9th state California has 120+ Clubs.

Some are coffee shops that have medical pot now.

New mayor of Oakland is former NORML board member offers full support.

California has passed a lot in last 2 years would me nice for some help.

Prop 215 in 96 passed in California by 56% the cops go by state law now and don't enforce the federal laws.

I would have voted for just to get it for the sick.
