awesome man, hey whats you friends name? i might know of him...did you go to worlds this year? i heard it was amazing. also, thanks guys for the advice..im deffinatly going to try and give smoking a break and focus on trying to be more social. ill keep ya updated if anything happens. peace
Don't know his name. I'm glad you're going to lay off. I hope things start turning around for you. Remember that it's normal to have those types of felings at your age. You'll get through. and as for the addiction thing. weed smokers are always so quick to point out the lack of a physically addictive chemical. but clearly there is a psychological addiction for many people. "non habit-forming marijuana that I have to smoke every day or I go crazy"
quitting smoking so abruptly will make you depressed. and part of it is that. mostly its just being lonely. baby steps. you dont have to run out and go to a party tonight. actually, i think it might be a bad idea to do that. being at a party can be one of the loneliest places to be when you dont know anyone.
you've just agreed with me though, weed isn't addictive. the plant cannabis isn't addictive. end of story. sure people with addictive personalitys could possibly get addicted to anything ( i'm addicted to chilli doritos ) but that doesn't change that cannabis is not addictive, and nor are chilli doritos. if someone with an addictive personality wants to get involved with whatever, and then they get addicted - don't blame what they've got addicted to, the chemical make up of whatever they got addicted to hasn't changed - its down to that person. i'm addicted to clear stary nights - but thats got nothing to do with the sky, night or stars! theres a great diffrence from something being addictive, and a person with an addicvtive personality getting hooked on something - people shouldn't get confused. cannabis is not addictive. very good point though in your post, i'd not even thought about people with addictive personalitys.
Well I think we probably agree with eachother, except on the definition of addiction. Certainly people get -addicted- to Cannabis, in a way that is a little bit different from your clear starry night addiction . (And while on the topic of stars, does anyone else notice that when you look at stars high they all spin around your focus?) Thank you
My friend stole Breakfast of Champions from the etymology room and left it in my car. I took it and read it, and now I know where your name came from, Mr. Trout. I'm stoned. I don't get depressed. I think I have extra seratonin receptors, always happy. Sorry you can't say the same. My post is totally bogarting the page.
A physical addiction has to do with a dependence on a drug, no matter the consequence of use. This is the clinical definition. A physical dependency is based on whether a drug effects the ventral tegmental area in the reward system. This type of addiction is completely different than a psychological addiction. One can choose not to do something that is psychologically addictive, and this addiction is not known to cause withdrawal and never did for me. It's simply a joke to compare the two on any level at all. Because no reception of Marijuana is found in the reward system, modern science assumes it is not possible for one to become physically addicted to the substance. Let us stop confusing the two. It may be a pain in the ass to quit, but that's about it. You don't get physically sick, you don't go into deep depression and you don't get other physical symptoms such as change in skin pigmentation and the "shakes". Anyone who says that they're "addicted" to Marijuana is someone who is looking for a simple cop-out.
MEH i dont really have people skills either im shy. but its becuase i lived somwhere for my hole life then moved.. havnt had to make friends for 10 years. and half the people in the hip forum caling a "cop etc" dint help BUT im just complaining.... i wore a bob marley shirt and then like every stoner in the scool just started coming up to me and talking.( the only post that worked in my own thread(there whas 15 pages) and it was my post). soo once i made freinds with one stoner then like all his freinds kinda became my freinds. JUST suggesting.
man loss of weed can get you sad full stop. if it doesnt make you sad, then you dont have an addictive a personality, or sjut didnt love being stoned much, compered to being sober.
