Yum! I loved baked apples (baked pears are good too). I might try and make those, Piaf. Ruby, you could just make some Christmas cookies. It seems as though every culture has its own Christmas desert. My mother used to make struffoli: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/giada-de-laurentiis/struffoli-recipe/index.html Those are always popular. Or you could go with something fairly easy and crowd-pleasing, like fudge! I think this would be helpful: http://www.pinterest.com/pineconesacorns/christmas-desserts/
If you decide to do so, let me know =) It originates from Persia, and it's very popular here in good old Bosnia.
Yum! I think I may make those to go along with Christmas brunch. I really enjoy very complicated, technical recipes. I may try to make divinity for the Christmas day munchies platter.
Nice. I am really not good at cooking. Baking suits me better for some reason. But just a tiny bit better, I'm still no good in the kitchen. I'm trying though, and that's what matters....I guess xD And I loooove baked apples because the whole house smells heavenly :sunny:
He's a western depiction of a persian prince I like their original religion too. And their architecture, and 'writing'. I guess they just had a mighty intriguing culture :2thumbsup:
I had that baked apple once in my life. Army cooks up some good shit before they send you off to die for oil..
We already do a cookie exchange with this group also so I feel like cookies are a little over done. I'm making peanut butter bars. I needed something easy because I'm also baking 6 dozen cookies and rolling out 16 batches of homemade noodles tonight.
I'm probably too late but i have some ideas. Lemon meringue pie, pecan pie, dulce de leche banana cream pie. Also, these... Gingerbread House Stand Up Sugar Cookies http://butterheartssugar.blogspot.com.au/2012/12/gingerbread-house-stand-up-sugar-cookies.html?m=1 I have recipes for the lemon meringue pie and the dulce de leche banana cream pie if you want them. Good luck!
After work I made 6 dozen cookies for a cookie exchange... 16 batches of homemade noodles for my family for Christmas eve.... The peanut butter bars are cooling right now. A photo to follow....
Lol, you get credit for trying . If you have a kettle, try filling it with water, a few cinnamon sticks, cloves, and some citrus peels. It makes the house smell amazing, and the steam works great as a humidifier.
HAHAHA. That is awesome. I always name my desserts weird names so this one will be "America pb surprise" from now on.
