But I got to see Furthur all three nights in Boston (which was fantastic)

And one thing that totally made it for me, was everybody singing. When they played The Wheel man, it was beautiful dude.

I became a fan in the late eighties, after many years of being a huge fan of early metal, thrash and hardcore punk. Probably saw Jerry play 50 times or more. I still remember when the Dead lost Brent. Had experienced a horrible loss then too. Saw what IMHO was one of his best shows weeks before he died in July in Buffalo. He was the best thing that had happened to the band at the time and really kept those old boys rocking, sweet, and trippy all at the same time. He was on fire that day and we had all commented that he even looked possessed. But losing Jerry was obviously a more profound loss for the whole Dead community and I will never forget the moments I spent in his presence.

I also saw many of the MSG shows in the 90's. The sound in that room is phenomenal. Seen plenty of other amazing concerts there and they are always incredible. Neil Young on the Ragged Glory tour at MSG was like a religious experience. Didn't sound better at any other venue that year IMO. Also was lucky enough to get tix for the Bob Dylan-Columbia Records tribute there. Also incredible sound (as well as the chance to see Dylan, Clapton, George Harrison, Petty, and Neil (again sounding amazing at the Garden) all on the same stage together. Fan-f*ckin-tastic! Kinda off topic, but i wanted to share.
