I just signed on the dole today lol. I do odd jobs and I've done some agency sparks stuff and CCTV / door access but to be honest I haven't had a 9-5 doing electrics. I'm desperately looking for something because right now I'm 24 and my employment history doesn't look that great, cash in hand building work and fitting bathrooms for beer money doesn't look to good on a mortgage application
hahaha im 41 my last so called job i was a vista for a year in an office but thats basivcly a paid volunteer actual real job wewas when i was 18 at least on paper ive had many off the grid thinfs and businesses and have no inrterest in a mortgage if i dont travel the rest of my life i'll buy a huge chunk of land throw up a teepee and start diggin a hole to build an eartship ive never had a need for the rat race concider this fact you work 3/4 of your life away spending the majotity of what u earn on 3 things.. a roof ..food.. and entertainment.. a roof will cost ya what it takes 3-5 years to reatn if u spend nothinmg on the rest food not alot comparitively entertainment though this is where they get ua..they know your disatisfied with wotking constantly so need distraction from the mundane everyday life so lets charge 5000 for a football game (superbowl) hundreds for a fest or concery thoysands for a cacation most of everything u work so hard for goues into the pockets of the [ppl who distract you from how muych u jate working.. a football player gets 5 miolion for running around chassing a ball a few hours so u can foir a momment forget all about work actors make miullions for making u distracted for 2 whole hours lets not forget thje drugs we trake alcahol pot whatever billions go into that to help us not be so sick and tired of working bands and singers too ebtertainers get the highest pay for the least work because they can do 1 thing make us believe that 40 hours of work was worth it to have that 1 hours distraction.. isnbt that sick? a healthy society land would be free.. a roof you could build yourself food you could grow and share and enertainment is as easy as hangin out round a fire bangin a drum total work hours involved however long uit takes to build a shelpter .. and a few hours a day tending crops houres freed for entertainment many cost of entertainment zero overall life satisfaction increased exponentualy i have no need for the rat race the only way tio build a better socirty is to live it every day
well you certainly have a vision i'll give you that... but in my opinion i wouldnt be able to do it, at least not over here in the uk, perhaps not at all even. I want to become one of those entertainers, not necessarily for gross amounts of money, but still its what I would want to be, thats why I play in 2 bands now. I am too used to modern convieniences to go and live in a tent somewhere, and im sure in the UK i would get moved on by the police after a few months, or I would starve due to not being able to find at least a part time job to pay for food, or to grow food, which would be pointless if I got moved on by the police, as my crops wouldnt move with me lol.... so yeah i think that lifestyle is too idealistic for me my friend, but good luck to you.
Exactly my thought. The UK is not all free living, we don't have massive forests to dissapear into. Even if we did, the food wouldn't grow. Half our countries official farmers are losing crops due to heavy rainfall. No amateur could live off it.

yea i was quite sickened by that racism too everyone needs a job no matter what color theyre skin..only whoites desserveto eat>/ why so whites desserve toi be paid 3 times what any ither race is willing to live off of? humans are hiumans no matter what as for the home healkth thing// good choice because they really need dependabalye people willing to do a semi decent job, 90 percent of the people who take thoise jobs do the worse job imaginable (not all sue if thats what u do i know u knoiw a few do freat work while others use it as an excuse to get paid while taking naps) u needno medical experience for most and they always need people since so mamnmy tend to be so undependable also u have the option of working through an agency, or directly for the consumer (with no bodss except the client that your helping)
thats right SE, some people take the job to get paid for taking naps. but i work for an agency and they make sure people are doing their jobs. plus i work for developmentally disabled people and it's a hard job, so the lazy workers get filtered out cause they can't handle it. phil, i dont know how big your town is but i thought maybe you culd think about being a security guy at a bar or club, a bartender, working at an auditorium where they hold concerts doing set-up, i dont know what kinds of jobs are over there where they would accept the dreads, i live in the US it might be different. do you have friends in your town with dreads? where do they work?
Racism? How is stating the truth, that immigrants are stealing our jobs, racist? Its the truth. Of course, you Americans don't understand the job problems we have here. So many places are employed full of immigrants, who work for less pay. So no jobs for any of us, as the majority of the positions have been filled.So you do take any job you get, you do anything you can to get a job, regardless of what their rules are. We don't get to pick a job we like, we just get to find a job which is bearable. If that.
^^^ Everyone lets not start this, perhaps its not the same in america, but at the end of the day, this whole "immigrants stealing my job" thing has got to stop, they come over to provide a better life for their family, they have exactly the same aims in life as we do, they have as much right to be here as anyone else. What your also forgetting is they do jobs that british people wont do, because they are too proud, where I work, the whole cleaning force is under staffed, there is 14 eastern european workers & 1 british, there are loads of vacancies and have been for months, dont see the common british worker queuing up. Every migrant worker I have ever had the misfortune of working with has been both workshy and incompetent. As for the "British people wont do these jobs" angle then I suggest you go down any dole office office in Birmingham and tell them that, this idea that the poles and what not work harder and better is an absolute myth that seems to have sucked employers in. I remember once I tried to buy shoes off a polish shop assistant, and when I asked her for a pair she went and stood at the other side of the shop for 5 minutes until I went and told her again to get me the shoes, somehow she was deemed suitable for this job despite her piss poor grasp of English. If all these people are such hard workers and have such high aspirations then why don't they go and make there own yard a nice place to live instead of dragging down ours.
just for the record, on this racism twist, I treat everyone how I would want to be treated myself, no respect for me = no respect for that person, no one person represents a whole race, its the individual only. dont let one bad example taint your view of everyone else ... who cares what colour or creed we are, lets just all get along
i only know that cause i saw it on the side of a van one day =] my brother is a sparky, he worked for an agency and got sent to some place, and then they took him on, maybe thats the route for you? i know how hard it is, im trying to find work as a plumber so i can get my nvq, but its not happenin. just keep goin thru the yellow pages and google and things, get as many contact details as you can and harass them =] (thats what im doing anyway, and its kinda working)
