If you had asked if muslims, jews, buddhists, or hindus bother me I would have answered that they do. I know there are several different types of each that practice they're own brand of self-delusion. All christians from all of it's many sects, branches, and dark corners bother me.
They don't really bother me (although fanatics always do), but I can't take anyone seriously who tries to apply the Bible to the modern world. For example, many Christians say that homosexuality is wrong "because the Bible says so!" Pff... I can't listen to that kind of crap.
man, this question is pretty much the same as asking if black people bother you, or do those pesky mexicans make your ass twitch? there's too much infinite variety to ever say a group in general bothers you. it's an immature assumption.
the question was do christians bother me. yes, some do. well, do agnostics bother me? yes, some do. do atheists bother me? yes, some do. the question was about christians. was i saying that they are the only hypocrites? no.
you're wrong. a person makes a conscious decision to become a christian, it is a choice that affects and creates a series of moral beliefs and a way of life. a person is born of a skin colour, is born of a country, and therefore it is ridiculous to choose those qualities as ones by which to judge by. there is a clear difference.
no, i don't think there's a difference. it's the same prejudicial mentality pervading either decision to dislike them. after all, what do racists say about all those black people who bother them? that they violent, drug addicted, stupid or poor. it's a conscious decision to hate someone based on your assumptions about them. why worry about other people's assumptions? look to your own troubled mind, and that goes for all of us.
Who said anything about hate? And I'm not assuming anything, my dislike finds it's roots in what I know of the religion having been a fundamentalist christian myself.
I've been thinking and I just now figured out how to explain what why chritians bother me. It's not really christians all together, but one specific group. The group that will vote for bush secause they think he is a christian because and only because of what he says. They don't care what he really does, but only care about what he says and are stupid enough to fall for it.
