Our only friends in this city have moved. Previously, of course they would knock. We weren't that close. Aside from my own home, I would only not knock at my mom's or grandparents' homes.

I can't stand it when people just come in and I don't like it when people ask me to just come in, unless I'm really "living" there for a period of time...like visiting.

All visitors must call and knock and if you're gonna show up unannounced you better have a 12pack of beer with you.

My place is far enough back from the road that if anyone knocked, let alone found the place, I'd freak...

people don't knock on my door, they call first. they know this.

people who don't call and knock are always trying to recruit me into the church.

they don't come back a 2nd time as i tell them you can only find god on your own, I'm ahead of you, thanks for stoping by, but don't do it again.

I had a church person come to my door once. I was in the middle of painting and the door was open so I couldn't very well ignore them. I told him I don't believe in god. He asked if I was ok with that decision. I told him I was perfectly happy with it then he turned and walked away. I didn't think it was going to be that easy.

I Get Plenty Of Warning Of Impending Visitors Here,

I Have A Series Of Alarms, Starting When A Person Comes Through The

Entrance To The Farm Right Up To When They Ring The Doorbell,

Partly Because I'm A Nudist, And Partly Because I Don't Have Any

Dogs To Warn Me So I Do It Electronically...:).

    Cheers Glen.

I get really anxious when I'm expecting company, even if its someone who has been to my house a million times. I'm not really sure why - its really silly. But I always end up loitering by the door when I'm expecting someone so I usually either end up going outside to greet them or else I open the door for them before they come to the porch so they can just walk in.

I love when friends stop by unexpectedly but I have a habit of running around in my underwear so its best if people knock when I'm not expecting them.

i'm a very non-violent person, but if someone just showed up inside my house it would be hard not to punch them.

if they just show up, they had damn well better knock, but i'd still be annoyed that they couldn't take the time to call and let me know they were coming over. if i know that they're coming over, i don't really care if they knock so much, although i would probably slightly prefer that they have enough respect to do so.

way back when i was in college, i delivered pizza to someone who actually called my manager and said that i should be fired for knocking on their door. they wanted me to use the doorbell, not just walk in, but it still baffles me that someone could be that much against knocking.

I really prefer when people call first, but I miss the part of my life when I lived in an awesome group of people who all felt like family and left our doors open and were generally in and out each others houses, backyards and front porches.

I used to totally just never answer when people knocked on my door. I was really paranoid. But now I will answer, I think one of my friends kinda got me used to it a couple years ago. But I really don't like that. Call first, let me know you're coming...please!!!

I might not be home or I might not hear the door or answer. This has happened a lot recently. People knock and don't get an answer because I don't hear it...I play loud music, etc.

when its closed and they want to invite me to something, or borrow something.
i really don't very often see anyone i know other then those who live in the same house with me, or on line.

i mean i see people all the time, the two or three times a week i hobble bobble the quarter or half mile or whatever it is down to the bus stop or the grocery store.

other then that, its mostly just people i see on line, that every once in a while show up at the house, or the bunch of us go some place to eat or a movie, more or less every other month or so.

basically i've either outlived or simply lost track of most of the people i have known in my life. so far i don't think anyone has come to the house i live in specifically to see ME.

the guy who owns the place (well technically the bank does, but you know what i mean, the principal mortgage payer the rest of us pay rent to) likes to organize events and occasionally hosts them.

i don't dislike people particularly, i've probably already said this a few times, other then generally finding humans less interesting then the things that do interest me, so i'm not big on going out and trying to make anyone emotionally dependent on my company. they would tend to get depressed from my greater interest in other things (trains, computers, little furry creatures, and so on).

friends are cool. i don't bite. i love affection as much as anyone. but i do tend to get bored with humans rather quickly. at least those who have cleche'd perspectives.

so yah. its not often anyone knocks on my door for any reason. i think the last time was a couple of months ago one of my housemates borrowed my soldering iron.

    well that's human persons.

now that i think about it, the cats sometimes yeol outside my room door until i let them in or out.

the seem to like to curl up next to me. or look for mischief to get into.

That is my life!!! That is why I hate people knocking. My friends are the kind of people that help load my dishwasher after a party. I do the same at their house. It's like we live in each others houses.

usually when the door bell rings, its one of us getting a package in the mail.

each of us do get different things from different places, and the mail person is usually gone and the package sitting next to the door by the time one of us gets there to open it.

i have to mail order train stuff, bucause there's no decent train store in town any more. my other housemates get fursuit parts and stuff like that.

i think we got one neighbor a year ago who was selling instalation of storm windows, which we've sort of already got. i don't think we've had any door to door religion sales people in the time i've been living here.

oh once in a while, one of our housemates or their guests will accidentally lock themselves out when using the hot tub, which is out in the garage.

but anyway, that's the outside door to the house. what i consider MY door, is the door to my room. where i am most of the time. playing on the computer. building stuff on the computer. or building stuff for the trains. or sleeping.

any of which might be happening at any hour of the day or night.
sometimes when the housemates are watching something together out in the main room, i'll join them. but just as often, i'll have my earphones on to think my own thoughts while working on something on the computer.\

we do all use the same stove and micro-wave and refrigerator and washer and dryer, and while there's no formality to it, we each occasionally wash dishes and take out the trash and things like that. vacuum, clean the cat box, feed that cats. feed and let out the dogs, or let them back in at night in the winter.

My friends always text/call me when they're at my house... and I fucking hate it. I wish people would just ring my doorbell.

I live in a not so good part of town so my door is always locked. The apartment building used to have an outside lock as well but it broke down so often and left tenants locked out of the building that they had to disable that outside lock. People have to knock because the doorbell broke almost 20 years ago. If they don't knock loud enough for me to hear they are out of luck.
