No one has ever made that mistake with my board name except warmie (WHC) who thought I was Booga when I first started posting back in August of 04’ Hotwater
No, but I confused the gender of one student once. I teach in China and one day, during one of my classes, I said "You are very tall for a girl" as I was taking attendance. It was just small talk teachers sometimes make, you know? Everyone in the class yelled "It is a boy!" But to tell the truth, I was more red in the face than the student! In fact, he did not hold it against me and has greeted me several times in public, outside of class. I think he is a pretty chill person. He did not care too much.
sorry, love nah, I am only teasing. I knew you were a bloke. I was either trying my luck, or simply trying trying to confuse somebody i'll leave which, up to your own judgement
I honestly thought you were a chick when I first joined, and that's not an insult- you are just quite nice to people There is only one person on this site I am confused about now, this person I think is a bloke but it's an extremely hard one to judge.
It has never happened in person or on the phone, der, ...but whenever in spiritual forums with a non gender specific name I am almost always assumed to be a male. ...and it is not coz I drop F bombs and wot not, ... most have a no swearing allowed AT ALL policy lest one offend delicate aural membranes of more pious types (who are probably foul mouthed hypocritic's playing dress up's in halo's anyway) Apparently to those 'sensitive to energies', I give off a male/dominant 'feel' to them. Whatever lol - it is a consistent impression tho. Maybe something to do with being the youngest child and only girl amid several brothers?
Ah. Maybe I do. I hadn't noticed either. When I first came here many thought that I was female. Some of the crowd at that time I found would be mean, but only to a certain extent. Then when some found out I was in fact male, they no longer withheld the insults. It seems people respond in a more civil negative manner when they think you're a woman. For example, one may call another guy an asshole if he's being a jerk, but would be quite hesitant to call a female a bitch if she's being unfavourable.
lolz seriously though, i realised you weren't a chick when you ended the drama with a philosophical statment instead of another shitstorm like a female would tend to create. edit and you're right. people are nicer to me now that i've put up my leggy pic lol
"look at that girl, mommie"-mexican ~4 year old in HEB. Yes, I haven't had a crew cut since I was like 10, and I'm not the most in your face manly, so it happens a bit.
I get mistaken for a lesbian occasionally ...until I mention the kids. But never a dude....my lips are always too glossy for that
