For me it's about the duration of the look. If I catch a very brief glimpse, pretty much from anyone I'm flattered (well ok, there's an age limit. Guys 40 years older than me doing it=not very cool)

But there's an innocent, flattering look, then there's leering and gawping for more than a few seconds at a time. That's just damn creepy and makes me shudder.

Depends on the look. I don't like being leered at, but I like being appreciated

it depends on the look..i really i like it when people stare at me. especially when they start to trip over things, spill their coffee while pouring it, and miss their mouths when they eat. but if they are just glancing at me, then..come on. thats ridiculous. i mean they know they want to stare, so then i think that they are self-conscious and intimidated by my good looks.

Well, I don't mind being looked at as long as it isn't obvious and there's nothing lame said like I heard last week "I'd superman that"... that is annoying and totally stupid.

I personally find it appauling. It says something about the person's character. I see it all the time, especially when I'm riding the bus. I'll be walking to the back to find a seat and there'll be like 3-4 young, well dressed, good looking girls just sitting there staring at my bulge area. Then when I stand up to leave, if I'm wearing shorts I can literally feel their gazes burning holes into the backs of my well definied calves and buttocks. I can't even ride the bus without be oogled. And if I happen to be walking through a shopping mall, there's always creepy, perverted women trying not to get caught looking at my muscular arms and rugged, good looking face. Perverts all of them.

That is, unless I'm in the right mood or need a little ego boost, in which case I don't mind and I actually find it kind of nice to know that women find me attractive.

Depends how it's done. There's a guy in my class who looks at girls and it's just vile. Looking at someone enjoying their beauty is perfectly nice. Looking at the curve of someone's genitals through their pants like you're trying to read their fortune is creepy.

if anyone pays any sort of interest attractive or not, it is an automatic turnoff. i like people that actually have social tact. i hate being stared at constantly.

Do you mind getting looked at? Or is it only okay when you need a self confidence boost?

Honey, I don't get looked at. At least not because I'm hot.

As a matter of fact, before you asked that question I was almost getting pissed that a girl in another thread even felt the need to post her thread. She's gorgeous. Just what society wants to see. I'm sorry for all the beautiful people who get stared at, leered at, and drooled over by normal people and crazed lunatics. My girlfriend says she wants to cut up her face so people would take her seriously and stop treating her like fuck material. I bet you everything I have in the world that none of you would ever want to be ugly instead, though. It's not fun being stared at for that, either.

It's humorous to me, the kind of fucked up morality mankind has built to justify its own vanity. "People always stare at me because I'm attractive and have nice legs. God what perverts."

Yet if they were offered money to model they'd do it in a heartbeat, having thousands look at their pictures, but it's okay because their beauty earns them a paycheck.

Meanwhile those same people will turn around, see a burn victim and think to themselves, "eww, gross."

This is why the story of Frankenstein is so lasting :D

It's also a bit primal, though. We're attracted to the strong and healthy simply because of our mating "instincts", as well. We aren't programmed to want to breed with someone who won't be able to provide us with the finest offspring.
