I do wonder these days if it's even possible to get an outstanding President. The President must emerge from a system that is dominated by enormous sums of money, needing to please a very wide range of people in a deeply divided nation, deep national security secrets, a military-industrial complex and multinational corporations and banks that seem to hold all the power. But, bottom line, it is we the people who have vote and ultimately, all the power if we would use it for good.
Not really. You can still only vote for those who are running for office and who have the money to build a political career. I think politics will pretty much be morally bankrupt as long as there are politicians.
If that's true, then the only way forward is to get all the money out of politics with something close to 100% public campaign financing, don't you think?
I do think . I also agree it should be limited to public debates and the debates should involve 3rd party candidates as well.
Undoubtedly. It just seems that Odon believes that the majority of US citizens are anti-gun, and that has not been the case anywhere I've lived.
I approve, because as far as from my perspective, considering the past presidents and the country we live in, things are too bad off. My life has actually been getting more and more awesome ever since Obama got into office, though little of that has to do with politics, it gives me perhaps an overly confident optimistic viewpoint.
I tend to not want to think about it. Politics depresses me. I start to read a news article and get annoyed half way in and close up the tab.
