yup, i believe in fairies (nature spirits) ghost, aliens (we cant be the only planet with life surely) and spirits. and the Gods and Goddesses, im a pagan. xxx
Jesus may have existed and there may be alien life somewhere in the universe, but in the sense in which the question is meant, no I am free from superstitions...
everytime i see this thread title i sing......that cher song! don't pretend you all dont too. anyway in answer i would say i believe in spirits and maybe ghosts. and theres got to be life somewhere in the vastness of space, so 'aliens' to.
Actually, I get "I believe in miracles" stuck in my head instead. EDIT: I think the name of the song is "You Sexy Thing."
Oh good, it makes me feel better to make others miserable. Mission accomplished! Anyone got any kittens for me to drown?
its our pleasure lithium. enjoy! :cheers2: and no i do not have any kittens, and even if i did i wouldnt let you drown them!
How would admitting you never had proof of something that no other human being in recorded history has ever shown any proof of be limiting? I would say that is not limiting, I would say that is evidence of a rational mind. Just because someone does not believe in myths literally does not mean they are limited in anyway. The "absence" of a deity is limiting? Show me a time that a deity has been anything other than absent and maybe your statement will sound less than uninformed.
I'm not inclined to engage in this argument as I owe you no explanation as to my personal opinions- I was simply responding to the original post. Besides, I'm fairly sure that there is no response that I could come up with that would be satisfactory to you. Please find someone else to troll. Thank you.
Okay I'm going to set aside my instincts here to respond on the possibility that I unfairly judged you. It will not have been the first time I've made such an error and I fully expect that it will not be the last... AND if this is in fact the case I owe and offer my humblest of apologies. OK- now to attempt clarifying my original response: A belief in God as I've been made to understand, having spent a portion of my later pre-adult life in a strict religious environment would eliminate the possibility of aliens, fairies, and ghosts; atheism would eliminate the possibility of God, Jesus, Satan, and angels. My "education" is limited enough to where I do not feel comfortable responding to the poll options and quite likely takes away my ability to furnish dialog within a discussion that makes much sense to someone who has strong opinions one way or another and has actually backed them up with education or research. My background has left me with more questions and uncertainty than with any firmly held beliefs. The most succinct way I can put it is that I do not know what to believe and it could be the sense of being challenged to defend that which I have particular difficulty defining which is what set me off to begin with. I hope this clarifies my response or barring that re-establishes a more civil tone.
I probably came off like an asshole, I say we just take the easy way out and agree to disagree. :Angel_anim:
Well I know I came across as one in a previous response despite recognizing that the attitude would accomplish nothing so we're even I think. :cheers2:
In some places, we are the aliens. Do we exist? When you have lived to have seen the impossible occure you stop putting limits on the possiblility of the impossible occuring. When you imply that it is non believable you close off any other possiblity of reality and block off any growth that may develop from keeping an open mind. Since we don't know for sure and we deny it's existance, we may be closing off our intuition and any knowledge we may have aquired in reciving the imformation. The imformation we deny may be the very thing we need to assend to the next level of consciousness. I think it's what we feel an inner connection with, what resonates with our thought pattern. What we were set up to recive. It's inside us. If we listen to what our 'gut' say, our intuition, we would be better on our course. When we close ourselves off to possibilities, we deny our higher selves and remain in a meterial, little me syndrome. Thinking nothing exists outside our 3 dementional body. We block off our spiritselves and are unable to recive enlightenment/awareness/conscious change.
