RE: y are you being so hateful your making me get all bitchy and i don't want to be like that..

It's your choice to be or not to be that way. It's a cop out to say you have a disease.

i have a close friend who is bipolar. she had been using psychedelics--maybe that brought it out, i dunno. anyway, she took a term off from college (we're the same class year) to get herself together and now she is on meds and is back in school and very happy and lively. i've never seen her better, actually.

you sound like you're only depressed--where is your manic side??

by the way, you COULD get a job if you wanted one. McDonalds would hire you, for sure. if you're afraid to work with people, then you could mow lawns or provide a gardening or weeding service to your neighborhood folk. you could learn how to fix computers and put up fliers in your community to attract people who don't want to pay hundreds of dollars to businesses to fix simple problems. there are TONS of things you COULD be doing if you wanted to work.

i hate to point to laziness as a road block and it's not that i don't doubt that you have a mental problem, but you have to learn to deal, man. you have to--you have no choice. you can't just let it take you over. it is hard, i know; i was depressed once (now, though, i am sure that i could never be depressed again in my entire life, no matter WHAT happens). you may be sick, but you have to stay positive and you have to keep trying--don't quit, ever. try to stop identifying with your disease and seeking sympathy because that will just make you worse, i promise.

you would benefit greatly from having less free time. go get a job--you can do it.

p.s. irongoth, what the hell is that video clip from? how did that runner not see her? or rather, how did that bitch not see him? (i guess if it were a race and he couldn't leave his track, then he sure as hell wouldn't be losing his time for some stupid ho not looking where sh'es going). haha.

Joker has stated he doesn't WANT to work, and crystalstarr is looking to join the public welfare gravy train.

You got two arms and legs and an intact spine, you can see and hear, and read.

It's welfare, pal. You've already said it's that you don't want to work.

RE: disibility can be for retarted people or people with a mental illness.

And sometimes it's for people with vague symptoms who can strangely get it together enough to demonstrate, or play music and chase down gigs, or whatever - but strangely not enough to get a job because he don't like being told what to do nor getting a haircut.

Dude you've already admitted you don't want to work. You're a lazy welfare fraud.

I ain't judging you personally but your behaviour. I think you're doing yourself a big wrong and when I see the next disabled vet sleeping in a cardboard box I'll be thinking "that guy's too messed up to work and is left in the cold, while Joker continues to buy cigarettes and weed with his welfare cheque..."

As for your jab at single mothers, babies need 24/7 care. Sometimes it makes more sense to give money to the mother and kids after the father walks out or if he starts beating her and she has to escape.

Versus a 19 year old kid who deserves his rent money free because America is racist.
    And he's lazy.

You don't have too many supporters here, Joker.

Don't like the answer, don't ask the question. Most of the women here, except for another wannabe welfare leech says that they'd kick yer lazy ass to the curb.

Don't like what I'm saying, fix it.

The reason you're so hostile is you know I'm right.

Conservative, nothing. And you don't have to have kids to be a leech - you could just decide to sit around all day smoking weed and cigarettes and playing your guitar while having your expenses paid by hard working people.

Joker, you yourself started this thread on a sour note. You stated in the beginning you didn't want or see the need to work or put out any effort and went into great detail about it. That was way before you stressed any trouble with meds. If you think a job is stressful, a musical career takes more time and extremely stressful if you are actually going to do something besides be a basement boogie wanna be band.

I have had a bf that had a serious mental illness, even more so than yours. He still worked or tried to. There are all kinds of jobs and you even have people that would be willing to help you if you wanted. In the last couple years it has gotten to be too much for him. He does complain that its a huge turn off for women that he is now unable to work. Sorry, most women don't wanna foot the bill for you either, whether they really are or not, they probably think it. SSI pays a minimal and doesn't leave much for anything extra, no getting ahead, just getting by, but you could make more and suppliment the SSI at least.

If your meds aren't working for you you should be discussing it with your doctor. They so have alot of different kinds and can find something that works better for you. There isn't any reason that you cannot be more productive but you actually have to ask people and tell them you need some changes like different meds or training, school, job search.

I don't rememeber who said the crap about what "real hippies" want. Ummmmm....All the people I know are self supporting and have a "job" of some sort. Many that decide they don't like the establishment make a business of their own, whether its tree service, vending, screen printing, contruction, massage...so many things. Not a typical job but still they work and are totally self supporting.

There are too many kinds of work out there to make a blanket statement "I can't work." You also have Dept. of Rehabilition Services (DRS) and many others that wopuld bend over backwards to find something suitable for you, whether its ten hours a week or fourty, in all areas and would pay to retrain you for what you chose. I wish I had that opportunty and you just piss on it by bitching about schools and teachers and...everything.

yes, it is sorry. the only situation where it wouldn't be applicable is if they were temporarily unemployed because they lost their job or if they had the finanial ability to volunteer a lot.

here if anybody gives a hoot here's my opinion:

who gives a shit ....yes really
who in the freakin world even cares......
if I met somebody that made me feel special with only the slightest contact I know that would be more important then how "constructive" they are being...granted you are living in the states so there are "laws" and such but depending on your spacific situation there are also places ....comunes...and such ...now I am not the person to be giving advice here, I am just me.....but I say ....for all its worth....that I would not let that be the deciding factor ...if that is I wanted to be with somebody who didn't have a job :p

    blah blah blahhhhhhh :)
