I kind of do, depending how you look at it. I have some friends on the streets but they aren't really friend friends, just occasional acquaintances. I also have some friends who don't have a place due to financial problems and just crash at a friends place. I don't know if they pay anything towards rent or whatever. When I was younger I used to go to a corner store and chat with this homeless guy in the alley. I still do that sometimes with some I see around, but a lot of homeless people I see these days are rude, even if you do give them a couple of bucks. and yeah, homelessness sucks.
There's a man who preaches for 8 hours straight outside of a gas station mcdonalds every friday. He just stands there and preaches about god. I always thought he was crazy and one day my friends said he gives you money if you can list the 10 commandments. So we went over and he started talking, and it's amazing how this guy can't run out of stuff to say. He just goes on and on... Anyway none of us could actually do it but my friend, being a dumbass, asked him for the 20 bucks anyway and the guy gave it to him. I felt really bad because my friend took his money, but ended up talking to him for like 2 hours. I talk to this guy alot now, and he knows me. I never really understand what he is talking about and he asks me reallllly hard questions, but he is awesome. He is a genius too.
!!! Exactly! This man came up to me and knocked on my window as I was parked and gathering my things in a busy parking lot. He made me totally uncomfortable and he had to move so that I could open the door and get out of the car. He started to tell me his life's story until I cut him off and said "Look, do you need money?" I gave him whatever change I had - but I still felt uncomfortable the way he came right up to me sitting in my car like that. The guy could have stuck a knife under my ribs or whatever. He insisted that he didn't mean to scare me, and he had a prosthetic leg and needed to get home. But that shit does upset me.
