Well, I dislike many things in the modern world too, but I'm sure I would have 'hated' lots of things in all times of the past as well. You shouldn't let it ruin your total view of the world and just accept it. Like deviate says, if you don't like your own situation it doesn't make your worldview better at all. There are lots of things to like as well. And not the whole world is modern
True. I just had a bad day today which is why I had to vent earlier. And yes not everything is modern which is good.
I both like and dislike the modern world. I dislike it because people seem to have lost touch with things that are really important and because people are too much occupied with the way they look, their image, career, social status etc. etc. ad infinitum. I like it because it gives me certain freedoms that the ancient world couldn't give me. Like travelling and making money online.
if you want to start a novel thread which has not existed before, you could post a video of you doing a sexy striptease. or even a bellydance would suffice:biggrin:
I like working with my hands, and doing work manually. as much as I love computers, they've ruined a lot of that.
I used to despise the modern world, and to a degree, yeah I still think it sucks now. On the other hand, I'd be lost without modern music. Indie stuff, I mean... Not.. Hip-hop and Fall Out Boy and all the other shit...
Indie is one of the things I really don't like about the modern world . But there's a pretty large chance it will pass soon, like lots of music trends in the past decades. Hm, now that I think of it, maybe it's just all the quick music trends that come by and go that is what I don't like. Looks like a good symbol of our consumerism based society..
I choose to see the positive in a liberal capitalist society. We have such power to engineer our own lives, even without money.
I would like to see a modern, properly developed, socialist society as well, just curious if it would suit me better. I sure do dislike some aspects of capitalism but I have to agree it is indeed not all bad. Lots of people just can't handle the (opportunities of getting more) money. So I choose to see both the positive and negative aspects
