Ok Cupid is actually a great website; I've used it in the past and while it's filled with bullshit just as any other, there are many cool people who use it. I only went on one date from there, and it turned into absolutely nothing (by choice, on both ends) but I actually made friends with the guy and although we are no longer in touch (which is by my choice) I could have easily maintained a great friendship; he was an extremely intense person and about on par with musical knowledge as you and I, he is a counter-tenor singer in a sort of avant-garde neoclassical electro noise group that performs regularly all around Philly. That was within days of setting up an account and he was all around a great person, except that he was 110% gay and I'm not, so that was that. It was still a great experience and our 'date' was afterwards viewed as a silly and awkward introduction to a new friendship. I'd imagine that you'd be able to find a girl through that website that will impress you fairly easily Matt, if you are willing to open up your radii to include, for example, Albany and Buffalo, at least.
Any time, Matt! If it seems dull at first, then just answer the questions and wait a few days. I never had the courage to approach anybody and so this could account for my limited experience; several people contacted me who I could tell immediately that I had zero interest in, but like I said it all happened pretty quickly and I ended up meeting someone with a seriously impressive active artistic social life who could have introduced me to many people in order for me to get back into making music for example, that kind of thing, but I became reclusive into hermit mode and for the time being, so I remain.
Really? It's Odon, isn't it? Seriously, though. You seem pretty cool. I'd chill with you and smoke weed.
I'm just harassing him to sign up because I think he could get a lot of funny stories out of it (that he would hopefully share here), and maybe find the love of his life!
so I have a lot of okc stories... my last date was with a guy with the same birthday as me (I'm very much into astrology) we smoked weed and ended up in a park with giant flower, lady bug, caterpillar, and frog sculptures... pretty fun
Is it easy to find people with similar tastes in music on there? Wait... nevermind... this is Crotchester. The irony is there is a woman who works in the same building as me, who has largely the same taste in music as I do, and is probably even more knowledgeable than me, and she doesn't even know I exist. I can only imagine she is the only woman in a 100 mile radius of me who likes so many of the same groups and genres as me, and her office is within 20 feet of where I do my nightly, mindless, menial work. How is that for irony?
then talk to her! omg what if you find her on okc! lol ..and yeah, you can search keywords so you can type in bands
She is only there during the day, so I don't even know how I would approach her without being a total creep. But yeah, I was thinking about just that regarding OKC. That would blow my mind.
