My spouse is not without a cover even in the home. She is very body conscious due to her medical issues. She slept nude years ago but now being exposed is to much for her mentally. I have told her that its OK if she wants to be comfortable. She says she is comfortable. Comfortable with a cover on.
Married with four children well they're not children any more two girls and two boys being naked in our home has never been question and now that the kids are grown up and on there own it hasn't changed! Catching there mom or me naked is not a surprise when visiting especially if it's in the morning and if they have friends with them doesn't matter there friends are used to seeing us naked by now!
Periodically one or two of kids stay the weekend with us and knowing our lifestyle they also run around the house naked rather it be one of our sons or daughters! We have a closed in pool in the back of our home with four walls there we all bare it all our entire family and friends. Friends have no choice if they want to visit they have to bare it all...................
My wife slept nude for years because I asked her to but she recently stopped and I miss it so so much. She was nude for a little while after her bath recently and it absolutely blew my mind. Generally she doesn't like being nude, she used to be so fun loving and sexual and did all sorts of wild things with her exes but won't do any of it with me.
This is Mrs Poplo I hardly ever write here this is my husbands play ground but there are exceptions I often go naked at home I love being nude so when the kids come to visit I still go bare and if kids have friends with them it doesn't change i still bare it all.................I love my body and I love showing it........
Not a lady here but I like being naked, but it turns me on and I don't get much done, so I need to be careful with that.
I think the primary reason that long ago some in our society insisted that we force everyone to cover their bodies, and it's become the normal expectation and law, is that of comparison. Guys got tired of being ribbed for their small dicks and watching the big dick guys pounding their harem of women continually and figured forcing everyone to hide that part of their body in public would help eliminate the unfair advantage. Surely women had jealousy issues among themselves as well. But one of the results of that is instead of seeing the naked body as natural, we've come to see it as erotic.
It is written in ancient texts that the appearance before a superior being without a cover was though to be shameful. Shameful because of failure to abide by law not connected with being naked. Was this law dictated by the superior being? I doubt it. Why would the superior being who created this world want to cover up the accomplishment much less make a rule to inhibit the pleasure of the creation? Would not this creator be proud and want to display the creation? I do believe these texts were written by leaders and claimed to be inspired by the superior being, or God, but not really inspired by God to do so. It was and still is a way for the few to maintain control over the many. It works in many instances but in some cases, nudity being one, it is totally without reason.
I think the text you're referring to is considered an allegory. I interpret the embarrassment of being exposed and the desire to hide as the human condition responding to having succumbed to temptation and disobeyed. I don't know if any scholars take it that way but you can see it in young children. Like you say, it is unrelated to the concept of some people decreeing that everyone must be covered. I believe that those people who say "it's because God said we have to" are taking the Lord's name in vane (using God for their personal gain).
It is indeed an allegory. A compilation of many books made up and presented as the Bible. The trouble is this bible was compiled by the few and accepted as law world wide. Plus many well written and meaning texts were omitted. The original story, Adam and Eve, is used to place fear in the public to follow controlling concepts less the result be disastrous. In a way it is totally contradictive to the most oft quoted passage of the bible. God loved the world and gave his son to die for all to live forever. If that's true then why didn't he love his creation enough to forgive and allow them to live in Eden forever, nude as the day he created them?
That's a very cultural thing though. I think in the U.S. especially, the naked body is demonized and sexualized. In Europe it is normal. I have visited Austria and lived in Germany. Communal showers are common. I was at a public swimming pool in Germany once, in the men's changing room. A bunch of men, myself included, naked in the shower. Woman comes into changing area with young son to help him out, in full view of us. Men just continued showering. Nobody cared. It was not a sexual situation.
For what it's worth my wife is naked around the house a lot. She used to get dressed when I came home from work so I could get things done, Retirement is great, she doesnt get dressed so I can focus
I don't agree with your stipulation that the stories are designed to instill fear and promote control of the masses by a few. That's just the anti-Christians talking and you falling for it. These stories are warnings about what happens when people do things that are self-serving and either don't consider or ignore the effects they have on others and the environment in which everyone must live. The 'control' is self-control and a love for your surroundings; they're presented to aid you in developing your strength to control yourself and act for the good of all. Actions have consequences - good and bad. You're not going to have a very happy productive society where nobody has self-control and everybody does what they want when they want! Your entire short miserable life would be spent watching your back!
