Causes of crime are indeed a matter of opinion. You make a good point though. I've always attributed it to mental illness, poor anger management skills, and greed.

Mentally ill people (well, at least people with schizophrenia, i don't know if it applies across the board) are actually less likely to commit violent crimes than the general population.

"Illness" may not have been the correct weird choice. "Instability" is more what I was going for.

On a side note, this made me think of the line from Miss Congeniality.

"This is Texas. Everyone has a gun. My FLORIST has a gun."

    Haha

Just put some talon grips on one of my 9's today. It's so small I needed the positive grip. Shit is so raw!

Can't wait to go to the range with it.

Some comments about gun safety are probably worthwhile. Especially since you've got a baby in the house.

There are some folks here that probably know more about the subject than I do, but at least I can get the conversation going. I'm just going to throw out my non-expert 2 cents.

I think that statistically you are more likely to kill yourself or a family member with a gun than an intruder. Something to think about.

A temper you can't control, suicidal tendencies, or a lack of caution don't mix well with guns.

My hope is that your husband knows about gun safety. I think most gun owners know a fair amount about gun safety. There are still some dumb asses out there that own guns and do stupid shit like pointing them in the direction of a person that they don't intend to shoot. The fact that you think a gun is not loaded and you've got the safety on is not good enough.

If he hasn't taken a gun safety course, maybe you could talk him into it.

You should make sure that the guns are either locked up, or in a holster on his person/ pointed away, unloaded, safety on unless it's a situation where he intends to shoot. Don't allow even a remote chance that the kid could play with the gun.

    ^^^ nice placement.

The rest of my pieces are taken apart and in cases, so I have no more gun porn to post.
