My over smoking fucked up my course at University as well... Thankfully I'm changing course so I can rectify it when I start my new one. I wasn't doing myself justice at all.

I agree with you, LooLoo. I was once in your shoes! I smoked all day, everyday. And it was great while it lasted, but after a while it just kind of lost it's fun. I wasn't smoking for fun anymore. I was just smoking because it had become another bad habit, and it made me feel heavy, tired, and lazy. Even depressed. I was (and still am) surrounded by tokers. But I started to cut back, because the whole time I was stoned in high school, I knew there would be a time to get serious and not be stoned all the time. It is just important to remember that there are more important things in life than catching a buzz. Now I smoke every now and then, and it's more fun for me in moderation. I don't like to be high all the time. There are just so many more opportunities when you're not always high.

I read that a lot of people have lost friends because of their weed habits, and the same was true for me. My friends that didn't smoke didn't want to be around me much anymore because it wasn't their thing. At the time I thought, "They're not my true friends." But now that I look back on it, I think that I put weed first. If I had put down my bong long enough to hang out with them, then I would have been a true friend. And they probably wouldn't have had a problem hanging out with me if I wasn't smoking. The truth is, however, that I would rather be hanging out with my stoner friends instead. SO in reality, I believe that it was me who lost interest in them because of my habit, not the other way around.

Also, when I quit smoking weed as much, it was amazing how many people stopped hanging out with me. If you want to really see who your true friends are, make it a point to quit smoking for a couple of months, and then see how many people disappear out of your everyday life.

    luv mj

i dont think that shows who your 'true' friends are at all. the whole 'friends' tag is bullshit in my oppinion. you hang out with people caus you jhave fun together. if you didnt have fun together, you wouldnt hang out. and then if you go further, the people who you socialise with are really jsut the people you relate to somehow, unless your forced into socialising. when your a stoner, its not as easy to relate to people who dont smoke, caus its like.. they do everythign sober.. and vice versa.

someone might be your best friend when you smoke together but you never see eachother when your not stoned, or cant socialise wihtout gettin stoned. this is totally valid. theyre your friend based on how you relate while in one mindset, as opposed to in another. if someones your friend in all mindsets, it jsut means they can relate to you on all mindsets, doesnt really mean theyre your 'best' friend. your stoning buddies could be mroe of a friend, just only when you stone with them.

a true measure of friendship would simply be how well you can relate and have fun together at any given state. you might have a best friend for stoning, a best friend for philosophy, a best friend for goin to the pub, etc. a friend whos best on all acounts is obviosuly gonna be your best friend but a friend who simply is your friend on multiple fronts is just going to be your friend for more situations. obviosuly the two concepts often are linked but not all teh time, and this is why friendship should be based on levels like if they wanna hang out with you all the time or when your boring and sober (to them, being stoned)

I totally agree with stonerbill. I think ganja has been a very positive influence in my life. It has lead me to great music, people, and inspiration. I truly think I owe my personality and life to herb. It has made me much more aware of the injustices in the world and has made me a more chill, peaceful man in general. I never really lost any friends because of weed, I've always had both stoner and non-stoner friends. I wish more people smoked pot, I think the world would be better. In the words of Bob "The more man smoke herb, the more Babylon fall."

I also regret cigs and booze infinately more than pot. As mentioned earlier, I kinda regret the fuckin up the lungs situation, but I would just recomend purchasing a vaporizer if you are that concerned about it.

lol i dont regret alchohol at all though, unlike some people here seem to.. i mean.. i just think its lame to go out drinkning all the time, i used to love it, and drink heaps. i think it was just like opening the blinds. smokin weed was openin the window. hopefully lsd or somethin will be like climbin out or something.

i never have got a hangover from drinkning, so either im lucky or have some great teenage metabolism. only one other friend of mine is in the same boat. everyone else complains about hangovers and we're like 'hehe'
not have i got depressed from any drug

I HAVE got depressed from relationship problems.. thats why i regret those things the most.

but yer the only person i know who doesnt drink at all, but does smoke weed is a muslim guy (i think?) who isnt allowed to drink alchohol

I have to say the only thing I regret about starting to smoke weed is that it ruined my singing voice. BUT, as I wasn't good enough to make a career out of it, I might as well toke up! I didn't lose any friends, or respect from anyone. It doesn't make me lazy, it keeps me calm when I need to be and it keeps my appetite up. If I didn't smoke, I would have a lot of nutrition problems. every morning when I wake up, I feel like i'm going to puke (boy did THAT used to scare me. I thought it was morning sickness for a while) and that feeling becomes less intense throughout the day, but will NOT go away until I smoke pot. If I get up and smoke right away, I'm good to go for the day.

hahaha mary jane never complains on what I do, where I go, how I act, dress smoke or drink. So in my opinion, bein a bad friend would be ditchin MJ(mary jane not michael jackson ehhehehehe) Ya if a friend says they dont like u cuz u smoke, they werent ur friend to begin with.

If your friend ditches you cause you smoke, they're also the friends that don't drink dance, or have any form of a good time EVER! Not meeting the crudentials to be a friend in my book...

I must disagree StonerBill. In my situation at least.
At one point, I stopped smoking all together. My friends were my friends, whom I confided in and trusted. And then I quit smoking weed and they're nowhere to be found because I don't have pot anymore?? WTF!? Like weed was all there was to me. It made me feel rather shitty to tell you the truth. Sure people like hanging out with people because you have fun together. But I guess without weed, I wasn't fun anymore.
