Uh....a dealbreaker? I think that's a little dramatic/shallow. To me, a dealbreaker is like...borderline personality disorder, or being a sociopath...not hairy arms. I know physical looks are important, but writing someone off just over arm hair?? Please.

i cooked a lot growing up. my armhairs would get burned off all the time, working over a gas stove. it's kinda nice, because they never grew in as thick and dark as they used to be.

a person can't help who they are or are not sexually attracted to. it just is. i knew one girl who had arm hair that was SO THICK that it bordered on repulsive. it didn't help that she was a complete bitch, too.

Equally some guys find it very attractive! Personally I find it a bit sad a woman feels she has to remove her arm hair, but that is each individuals choice to depilate or not.

I just wish there wasn't this subliminal pressure for women to be hairless. Each woman should feel free to be shaved or hairy (be it arms, legs, pits, pubes wherever!) with no outside pressure, just as a guy can choose to be shaven, but is not generally hassled if he has a beard.

aww sweetie, you DON'T have to... Jessica Simpson isn't even Jessica Simpson (airbrushing, cosmetic surgery, etc...).

And for those of you who say it's a "total turnoff to guys"... speak for yourself. I know many women who don't shave at all (dark hair, light hair, doesn't matter), and believe me, they got plenty of game.

Oh, I'm all for people choosing to do whatever they want. But with choice comes consequence, and most of my guy friends will notice long and especially dark hair on women's arms (or anywhere else, for that matter. mustaches, back or stomach hair etc = also not good)

Shallow? Perhaps. But at the end of the day, that's how it is. We are all attracted to different things, and seemingly insignificant stuff like armhair will come under scrutiny when I, at least, am deciding whether or not to pursue a more meaningful relationship with a girl.

But here's a slightly different question: If you met a guy you really liked, and he asked you to shave your arms (or something similar) would you do it?

Honestly, I might consider it. I don't define myself by whether or not my arms have hair so it really would not be a big deal to me.

i have dark hair and i do have hair on my arms, dark brown, but it's not that bad so i don't shave it. i've never thought of shaving my arms, ever. it's never been something i've been made fun of for at all. i'd never shave my arms, but i can see how someone with really really dark hair might. but instead of shaving, bleach it! or wax it! or, if you could save enough money, i'd get it electrolasis-ed or laser removed.

I have blonde fine arm hair so it's not really a problem like maybe on certain angles in the sun you might see them but usually not.

Arm hair is nature's way of letting you know there is a bug on your arm.

    I'm keeping mine.

  16. Nope. I don't even shave under my arms.
I don't like the sensation of having no hair under them.
It also gives me major sensory issues.

I don't think I have met anyone who shaves their arm hair. Let's keep it that way--don't need another ridiculous social norm to maintain.

Interesting to compare 11 years ago and now.
I fear we are in a scrape it off cycle.

I even shaved my pits for an event. I’m encouraging growth as fast as I can.
Bald pits are stinky swamps. No hair for sweat to migrate down, no place for beneficial microbes to live.
    Bleh.

I'm lucky you can barely see the hairs on my arms they are so fine/tiny! My mum has said she's jealous as she's got more hair on her arms than me haha.
I think I get it from my dad, he doesn't have much hair other than his head and legs. His back is almost completely hairless.

I love being completely hairless from the nose downwards. I don't mind what men have but I definitely don't like a very hair man. Some guys look really sexy with a hairy chest, some look hot with nothing. But yeah anyways...
