    No trouble whatsoever.
There's always ebay of course, and there's plenty of retail stores online too. Needledoctor.com as mentioned above is a good starting point among others.
Don't think I can PM yet but maybe I can post links if you need some pointers.
Getting your needle (Stylus) right is a good idea or you could be grinding the wrong sort of groove into your vinyl.
I'm on other online music fora where's there's very knowledgeable people if you need help working out which exact stylus you need.

    ye-up.

not a nostalgia thing for me (little before my time) i just like the physicality of it. although i don't have a large collection, because i never have much disposable income, its growing slowly. the city i study in (manchester) has always been a place for vinyl lovers, got a whole street virtually dedicated to record shops, nicknamed vinyl valley, nothing like having a delve round there :)

Oh man.... you are so lucky. (esp if you're into that 'Madchester' sound I guess.) Also a lot of people find that UK vinyl has been pretty well pressed over the years.

I'm in a place far from any physical record shops. I have to buy on the Net and import them one by one. Postage to Oz really adds up.

I listen to vinyl almost exclusively. Unless in the car or at the gym, when I listen to my iPod. Turntables manufactured from the mid-1990's and on are a HUGE improvement over many of the 70's/80's mass produced ones. For entry level, look into brands like Pro-Ject and Rega. Records easily stomp CD's in quality, and new pressings are incredibly quiet. Even entry level cartridges sound amazing and quiet. Try brands like Ortofon, Grado, and for a little more Benz Micro. Pro-Ject has a new table coming out that includes a carbon fiber tonearm and a superb Ortofon cartridge - the whole package is $399!

Good advice for anyone with an old junk player who wants to hear how vinyl can really sound. You'll have to make sure you have a separate amplifier with the right input. It is different to CD etc.

    Ortofon Moving Coil cartridge here.

i bought a new record player a few months back along.

some of my favourite artists release music exclusively on vinyl

and i have discovered other lesser known bands by scouring my fathers old collection.

I have a stack of vinyl but no record player to play them on.Also not really enough room in my bedroom to install one.I'll admit vinyl records have a certain kind of magic - they're also easier to roll joint's on than a cd too!

Being born in '84, the only time I listened to Records were with my Dad. He has a nice size collection and every once and a while he'll put one on. But it's rare.

What is "cool" to you ?

my husband is an older gentleman and he has millions of records and listens to them on his turn table......he calls me a pup for my obsession for my iPod, but I've learned tons about his generation's music and he's majorly into blues from the 50's. I like it but need some breaks from it at times.

    My current Ebay listings http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/e.fromoz/m.html?_adv=1&_dmd=1&_in_kw=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

or if the Mods don't like that do an Advanced Search on Ebay. My Username is E.fromoz

I don't always have things listed. It's commonly 1960s or early 70s classics when I do.

Depending on your Location postage from Australia might be high.

I don't have mine anymore, but I do still have about 600 cassettes. I've been trying to record them all to CD but it is time consuming and the quality isn't that great.

I really like colored, or marble vinyl. Flaming Lips always have awesome color vinyl. Etched is pretty sweet too.

I love records and I won't listen to music on any other format. But I'll throw this into the conversation.

I also watch movies using a projector. I've got a Super 8 and a 16mm. I just finished watching tonight 2001 a Space Odessy and Bullet (steve mcqueen). Trust me the largest flat screen high def doesn't come the slightest bit close to a projector experience.
