I can't believe in something that hasn't been proved & even if something has been proved, the proof could be false. So called 'truths' are always changing. Short answer: No.
ultimately YES. Its impossible for there NOT to be a god. Its Definatly not in the way 3/5 of the planet understand it. Something had to start all this, and i mean on a galactic range, something started these processes, that led up a billions of years timeline to lead up to become what we are, and what the universe is. God is pure energy, that shuffles lightly on what i think, but ill end it here. I don't mean to offend any christians, or catholics, or anyone I would gladly give my life, dying to protect your right to believe in what you want to believe.
Pure, universal energy - one consciousness.. the cosmic spirit. how i perceive the concept. in my opinion, official religions are by no means the only way to see universal energy.
it is difficult for me to believe in some deity because of a lot of negative events which have inflicted my life. however, i do believe in myself and my husband and all the beautiful and positive moments we create together. however, just because i do not believe in a deity does not mean i wish ill of anyone who does. i respect them just as i wish to be respected.
I believe God exists but I do not think the current disaster is what he wants for us. I have a hard time believing that God wants us to sit idly by in spirit while our bodies continue pedaling this machine called western culture that's devouring the planet alive and leaving nothing but trash and misery in its wake. I'm not saying Christianity, the bible, is bullshit, but those teachings, or the way we read them, have been perverted along the way.
Agreed, god is not the issue, one's interpretation of god is. I put more stock in how spiritually connected and ethically grounded someone is than how religious they are, and I can't help but conclude that those who use their god's name to justify their sins will be the first to rot in hell, if hell exists.
God is not the issue here, Dude. I'm talking about drawing a line in the sand. Across this line, you DO NOT... Also, Dude, god is not the preferred nomenclature. Supernatural deity, please.
to me god is a concept that makes people more comfortable with being alive and with getting through life.
i agree with you josh. they are instructed to believe something and they accept it as fact without questioning it.
I'm not sure what i believe in really. I was raised catholic, but have been reading into pagan beliefs. I definately think there is something but i'm not sure what. Does anyone have info on nature worshiping religions?
I believe in what there is to believe. What can be backed up by solid evidence and hard fact. I also believe that if I was given irrefutable proof that goes against what I think I know, I will happily accept it as true.
I believe "god" was the 4 forces of the universe (Gravity, Weak Nuclear, Strong Nuclear, Electromagnetic Force) when they were bound in that finite little ball, the big bang and hyper-expansion occurred, because he was fucking bored lol, now he is everything.
