Maybe people thought of God, this flawless state of being, because people desire a flawless state of being so much. They can't let go of this idea that there's something perfect, because that would be admitting that they themselves can never be perfect. I think we need the flaws or life would get dull.
Consider the idea of imperfection in a guilty sense is instilled by parents in an unintentional way. We get this sense when we are first told as a child that we are bad or have been bad. The remedy for error of any kind is correction, not scolding/scalding of conscience. We learn this lesson of inadequacy from our parents, the sins of adam passed down, but fortunately there is another teacher in the world and that one is not a-parent. That is we can learn anew. We enjoy challenges when we are at play. Everyone longs to return to a virgin state before the advent of unjust comparisons. In each of us remains the memory of our childhood earnestness and the memory pertains to the fact that nothing that has ever happened to you has substantially changed that sincere desire for joy.
Thank you for the explanation but no, this is not my first rodeo. I can remember reading about virtual particles in Scientific American as far back as 2006. I must admit that, like Einstein, am not a big fan of quantum mechanics. I view quantum mechanics to be much like Newtonian physics, a good working description of things until a better one comes along. As for this; "where do the particles come from? they dont come from the energy in the empty space becuase the energy is a result of these partcles comming in and out of existance. the particles are truly comming from nothing." I tend to believe that energy is needed to create mass and mass can to be turned in to energy but not that mass can come from nothing. So I tend to see it as the snake eating his tail, the particles coming from the existing energy and the energy coming from the particles turning to energy.
Thanks for your opinion. As for what I was saying that you seem to have misunderstood so badly, at a time when people were believing that the earth rode on the backs of turtles, the Bible saying that the earth hung upon nothing and that the stars existed because of the power of God seems positively scientific.
How do you feel when you are at a red light and the light changes and at the same time the guy behind you honks his horn for you to move it but he doesn't see the truck running the red light? Ever think that maybe God sees something you don't? He is God isn't he? You are talking about "blind faith" and the bible doesn't recommend it.
I like your poison pill thanks. You also said that science is catching up. What is misunderstood so badly but your own contribution? Your example lacks scientific detail while it recognizes the ability of the subjective experience to apprehend broad proportions. Where is the model for example of the solar system or the relative and systemic forces that allow us to predict the orbit of planets and fire off probes to arrive at locations far removed from us or current positions in space over time.
Called ouroboros. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ouroboros I would say states of matter require dynamic energy or movement to form,. Plasma comes before the relatively solid states of matter, gas, liquid, or solid although all states are redundant.
And on this reflection the manifestation or kingdom of power is in and among you but you cannot see it lest you bring it forth coming from where it resides.
Quantum Mechanics is a broad encompassing term for observations and theories at very small scales. Particular quantum theories which are currently held, such as the Standard Model, may be improved upon or replaced with another model eventually but I'm fairly certain quantum mechanics is here to stay. I'm not particularly comfortable with a lot of Quantum Mechanics either, probably in part because I don't understand the math (different than Einstein's grievances) the physicists do, nor are there really many accessible experiments, which appeal to the intuitive senses of human experience. Quantum mechanics allows for the theoretical aspects to run wild, far beyond what's currently possible to be experimentally verified or observed and a lot of the theoretical stuff tends to be the juicy or flashy theories which are reported more in the media or on science tv specials. For instance, waiting in the wings of evidence to displace the Standard Model are a half dozen or more Grand Unified Theories and Theories of Everything (I.E. String Theory, Simulation Theory) but these unsubstantiated theories tend to get more attention then what has currently been verified.
Whatever The bible is not a science text book, that is not its purpose but where it touches on science it is accurate and many times it is hundreds if not thousands of years later that science catches up.
I was just pointing out that like Newtonian physics, which many thought was here to stay, Quantum Mechanics may also one day be taking a back seat to a better model of the world we live in.
Unless the whole paradigm of science, or at least physics falls apart, I don't see how. I mean there are particle accelerators such as the Large Hadron Collider out there which helps tests theories of quantum mechanics. These technologies and the subsequent findings would all just have to disappear or something.
That's kind of why they call it a paradigm shift. No need to get rid of the Large Hadron Collider, all that would be needed is a reinterpretation of the findings.
More pertinent to my mind is where does God live,(universal,extra-universal) Is such a concept of God male, female or pansexual, how does God spend his time, does God get bored, lonely etc. Does God have sexual desire, dietary needs and where the fuck is he if not immanent in us and the physical structure of the universe because to my knowledge if there is such a being he either must be in contact with aliens or very bored. For me God is neither affecting some cosmic balancing act or even remotely concerned with us.God is largely in absentia. We seek a God through faith but this being is essentially not there or not concerned for our welfare as such. So it seems people pray to God for a perfect world. But such a world is not possible because evolution requires upheaval, catastrophe and a multitude of seemingly non-sensical tragedies in order to ensure future realities.Maybe this is God's will.Somw mystics declare they have found union in God but how can we be sure this is not just a fugue state of the psychology of a highly developed consciousness? Maybe this is what God wants us to see.All in all it is one of the ultimate conundrums.Maybe God is not even aware she is God,but rather a pure function of the excellence of physics.
Newtonian physics has not been invalided, it has been found to be limited to macroscopic objects and sub-light speeds. You still aim a howitzer or drive your car based upon Newtonian physics. Quantum Mechanics enters the picture when we deal with matter at the Planck constant it may one day be found to be limited also (already is only used in certain circumstances).
Again science is based on observation. Observation has always been around. Science hasn't caught up. Early church models of the solar system were earth centric. It is science that gives your statement any stature at all. Without the science you can't go back and say wow that looks scientific. Your characterization that science has caught up is deficient. Science has been refined over time. We the scientists have developed tools that extend the range of our senses beyond the intuitive to the outwardly visible. Fact is the words you quote from Isiah look the same now as they did before the advent of modern science, no more scientific now than then. What you are saying is not true, truth being relative to true terms and those being same, different, or purposeful. If the bible is not a science text book then it doesn't "touch on science". All that is going on there is that you are making abstract associations of meaning However books are technological instruments and the bible is a textbook for a specific scientific discipline, (useful for teaching) just that astronomy and astro physics isn't it. If you think the bible suffices for all learning somehow ahead of the curve you are mistaken. It is useful but a wise man takes from his stores some of what is old and some of what is new. Not every claim made in or about the bible can be carried forward, just as every modern prevailing theory may not persist. What science is catching onto, not catching up to, is that the subjective human experience is a legitimate player in the physically creative process. We ultimately are the only measure although there is the model of patterns in nature that we can measure up to.
If god is that which you invoke then it moves with absolute authority in your life and upon it you can trace all of your responses to it.
