Does Marijuana Cause Cancer?

not sure if it causes cancer but smoking anything can damage and probably will damage your lungs.....fuckin love weed!!!

 

The government has known since 1974 that Cannabis inhibits the growth of many kinds of cancer cells, including breast cancer!

This is great news for women because breast cancer seems to be spreading at an alarming rate in the past several years.

 

Has there ever been one case of cancer reported in regards to pot smokers?

There are no tars in cannabis, like in cigarette smoke.

There has been much evidence to show cannabis can inhibit cancerous cell growth; so I'm inclined to believe that even though there is a lot of tar from it, it does basically negate itself. How can you explain a cancerous tumor growing in a hotbed of anti-cancerous agents? It just doesnt seem to make sense.

Combine this with the fact that in my personal experience, and apparently in the experiences of others, cancers from marijuana just dont seem to exist and I'm sold. Besides, there is much propaganda and bullshit surrounding marijuana- why am I to believe anything they say at this point? This evidence of marijuana being anti-cancerous has been around and evolving for quite some time. So I'll take my chances with who I believe...

No question it is damaging though. I plan to stop smoking pot in a few years- and switch to cooking or vaporizing. Marijuana is VERY resinous and produces a lot of tar when smoking... I would hate too see how clogged up my lungs are when I'm 50. Bronchitis, and other lung conditions from prolonged heavy marijuana use are proven to be true of marijuana smokes.

There are many, many people who smoke throughout their lives and never have any problems breathing, such as my friend (who is 50) who has been smoking for over 30 years with ZERO (count em) adverse effects.
Marijuana doesn't clog your lungs. It opens your airways so you can breathe better.

Your experience with your friend is just that, YOUR experience, not the sum of the subject as a whole.

Think rationally here... Do you realize how much tar accumulates in your pipe after smoking just one ounce of pot? Quite a bit. Thats all in your lungs... granted, your lungs probably have the ability to heal themselves somewhat, but after repeated and prolonged smoking they definitely arent going to miraculously make all that tar just disappear.

Emphyzema, chronic bronchitis are common in long term pot smokers. Im sure there are other conditions as well. Its quite ignorant to think that smoking something which is loaded with tar is going to have zero negative impact on your body... smoking ANYTHING is by no means a "natural" process that our lungs were designed for.

Have you ever seen a 50 year old healthy lung? Those brown and gray spots covering (which look quite unhealthy) are just dust and dirt accumulation from over the years. Now imagine what a lung that has been smoking pot on a daily basis for years and years loooks like... not good to say the least.

And yes, marijuana opens your airways. Thats why when you smoke, the tar gets DEEPER into your lungs. Dont keep fooling yourself, smoking anything isnt healthy in the least bit.

It will NOT cause cancer. My dad used its when he was dieing from cancer to relieve pain and so he would be able to talk to his family instead of taking 30 dollar pils and passing out.

No it does not cause cancer. But it certianly makes you run out of breath easier like smoking cigarettes does.

Also I meet someone who could no longer produce saliva because of smoking pot. He has to constantly be chewing gum to make up for it.

THC can actually prevent/block cancer cells, but i gota say any kind of smoke your putting into your lungs isant good for you. Its just not natural, our body's arnt meant to handle all that smoke. I like to make weed brownies or butter to prevent problems with my lungs. I also buy the best weed my dealer can get, so that im only taking 1-3 hits and getting blazzed out of my mind.

I have no doubt that weed causes cancer, but if you take into consideration that most stoners dont smoke nearly as much as ciggaret smokers. Even if its what they say and 1 joint = 5 ciggarets, most poeple smoke atleast 20 cigs a day, well i dont think a lota poeple smoke 4 joints a day or more....we us marijuana users arnt damiging our lungs nearly as much as ciggarett smokers.

+ its much more fun than cigs, its actually worth damiging your lungs for.

 

I dont know my mom told me my cousin died from lung cancer and she swears its cause of marijuana. He never smoked cigs he was against it. Who can tell "i plan on getting a vaporizer soo that should save on some lung cancer. lol
