i would have just deleted the whole thread. easier. anyways sorry for my part- i need to learn to KEEP using an ignore list as it's there for a reason.
As far as children are concerned, I think they were just as happy and excited when parents would make the toys for Christmas and throughout the year. Something happened that made the desire for better toys spoil all that, and money became the means to keep up with that demand.. For adults, I will openly say that to me, the "developing" in the term developing world/country means that they're developing a greed for things that require vast amounts of momey to satisfy that greed.. Individuals are easily caught up with that greed as a rule, and perhaps a country's greed and a person's desire for advancement are so intertwined that it's always going to be unstoppable.. Back on original topic - It's said somewhere that it's the love of money that is the root of all evil, not money itself. It's a pity that very few of us can live without money, but it does mean that money is the way out of certain problems. ie poverty. I think once we've escaped the trappings of poverty, it's important not to get caught up in the trappings of wealth.. Hehe... Having too much may make you as satisfied as my avatar cat, but I bet happiness doesn't enter it's little head
talk about greed...."i ain't movin' and i ain't sharin'!!! it's all MINE!!!" we once took a picture of one of our kittens sitting on a 500 pound fishof some sort that a neighbor brought back from alaska. mouth wide open, scrambling around, trying to get a bite but it's mouth was too small...so cute.
Interesting diversion.... Is it wrong for money to buy other peoples (or pets!!!!!!) happiness? I mean, I have this thing where it seems money takes away our innocence too early in life.. Without wanting to have sounded ungrateful, I'd rather have not known the cost of what people gave me, so that I could truly appreciate it's value.
