No you aren't bad for speaking out about PEDOPHILIA. Should we hate the education system and all school teachers, since there's a growing epidemic of offenders in that field? Many people equate: priests = betrayal. No doubt it's bad, but I was sexually abused by a school teacher and when I was sexually assaulted at CCD, by an older kid, it was a nun who intervened and saved me. I actually stopped going to CCD because of that assault and I blamed GOD. It wasn't until over 20 years later that I looked back on it and realized that if that nun hadn't done what she did, I would have been raped all the way (she stopped him before he could finish). The school teacher story is really much worse. pedophilia is a HUMAN problem, not a priest problem or a Church problem. It is mostly considered to be MEN'S problem, but there's some sort of "equality" happening now where women are just as guilty. I've known sexual abuse all of my life. The problem is HUMAN BEINGS.
The greatest institution ever established is the Public Library. Seriously. Need guidance? Try the library (and, interesting to note: it is said of Heaven that it's loaded with libraries... )
Yes the problem is human beings but wouldn't you expect it last in the field of religion where them people are telling us how to live right by the standards of god? Or who ever their Worshiped one is,,, I know about a female nurse, who sexually assaulted a female disabled person in her care, so ya it does go into other fields but if I am supposed to follow a religion and it's ways then it shouldn't happen there. I don't follow that nurse, your teacher, my neighbor or a doctor with messy hands. Those preaching us into the light at the end should not be doing the opposite they preach to their fellow man. As no one should do wrong but you see my point.
Right, it shouldn't happen by people in positions of authority but that is quite often exactly how it happens.. the imbalance between superior and subordinate. Abuse of power. Whenever I hear "we are all God's children" it makes me think: we have all been sexually abused, at whatever age, by whichever gender, in whatever situation. Actually, I think that people who haven't been sexually abused or sexually assaulted are the rare ones. The statistics on sexual assault are indicative of commonality.
That makes me a rare bird then I guess. I grew up not knowing or being exposed to anything like this. A, "sheltered life". I dont know why people all stick their noses up in the air around me when they find out how sheltered I was. Actually when I was a child I always thought that pedophilia just didnt exist.
I don't know why people stick their noses up at you, either. It isn't a behavior that I understand. *shrug*
Israel literally means "Triumphant With God". It was the name given to the patriarch Jacob after his wrestling match.
When we try to question everything (seems an admirable effort at first) also the obvious is subject of speculation, deduction and testing again. That may seem weird to people who don't see the point
No. A person is no one in particular. Therefore, I shall venture to answer this question in the new light. Religion makes a better person from the standpoint of neighbours wanting to love and help each other. It also makes a worse person for the new look of lacking self-confidence. :sunny:
I disagree with the video but religion has helped me I think. Praying use to make me feel better; it may be still making me feel better but I might be too distracted to notice. Peace, nunnies
