Does the United States have a bad image from the outside?

Once again, you make an assumption that another country should be the same as you..

I hate to tell you this, even with all the similarities in our countries, our CULTURES are very different from one another.

The fact that you assume we are 'the same' as you because we are white, is a prime example...

Just because the color of our skins may match, and we may be neighbours, does not mean we are the same...

It is assumptions like that (and your previous one) that give americans a bad name.

 

Throughout the cheny years we had and deserved a bad reputation in the eyes of the rest of the world. I am sure we still do but to a lesser degree now as the Obama administration does not have the "my way or the highway" foreign policies of shrub. Obamas policy of actually treating other countries with respect and listening instead of bombing might give us a slightly better image in time. By the way I did not vote because I think its middle of the road.

We ARE America. That makes Canadians follow the footsteps. WE control the economy of the world, no matter how shitty it is. YOU live in Canada. Name one Canadian car. Name one Canadian Media company that influences the world like CNN, CBS, ABC, FOX, BBC, NBC. As fucked up as this place is, it STILL controls the world.

Canada has one of the best Intellectual scientific populations in the world and if it wasn't for them sharing all that knowledge with the USA, there wouldn't be all the scientific developments there are now..

 

Plus I dont see the drill "baby drill crowd" being very popular for the next few elections

I was worried about that. I edited my post. I think it sounds more "to the point" the way I edited it.

The USA's government is all PUSSY about what the other countries think. If it wasn't all about what the other countries thought of us we would probably get more good stuff done.

 

This is one of our image problems, the attitude that we somehow control the fate of the rest of the world. The only really influential world wide media you mentioned is the BBC and their British. I know our buying power and military has a great deal of influence around the globe, it does not mean we rule the world or everyone tries to follow on or footsteps. This is one of the attitudes that the rest of the world resents.
