Once again... Let me translate that to how a lot of people will see it... Why should America listen to anyone else, we should do what we want, when we want, and fuck everyone else.
Political thought hurts my brain and is boring when I am sober. It's fact. Im not blaming it on nothin. The views and opinions expressed in this thread do not in any way reflect those of the staff and management of my sober brain.
Because the united states of america is America... What part don't you get from that? Just because we share a continent named North America does not mean we are all americans... It makes us (canada, usa, mexico) North Americans.... Seriously... this shouldn't be a hard concept to grasp....
okay... you got me there... out of the two... sounding like an idiot on the net is better then proving you are one in real life.
I guess that eliminates loopholes in the thing. but that just gives USAians one more way to claim half the freakin world.
to answer the question.. who the fuck cares? let's bend over and let other countries rape us because we aren't perceived as a "nice" country.. good idea.
Canada will just have to take over once the United States is the first democracy in modern western civilization to collapse... well Mexico can have the lower half eh? We'll get the UN to divide up the lines Im still waiting to hear replies from people over seas, opinion exempt if you are in the USA... and I am in the USA..
I think the liberal media did it's best to characterise the Bush years in the worst light possible. Not to say they were not with out fault...but what I was surprised about is the fact there wasn't much of a difference in foreign policy or general attitude when Obama came to be president. Name one thing Obama has done that Bush would not have done. If he was against the war, he would have pulled out troops by now...but no, he has sent in MORE troops. That would have been spun as being a war monger if Bush was still president. But it is seen as trying to bring the hell to a close sooner. For what ever reason the Bush admin' was perpetually seen as the bad guys, what ever they did...right or wrong. I really do think it was a case of perception and unfairness. It would be unfair to say that the Bush admin did not engage in diplomacy and wanted peaeful resolutions to the issues they were entangled with. Obama might have a different perception around the world...but I do just think it is a perception. He is not vastly different to Bush. I do think it boils down to perception...and Obama won the war on perception. I guess if Obama is seen as a "good guy" regardless of anything else it helps with the perception of America. Obama is giving a positive spin to the general attitude most American presidents have always had. America first rest of the world second. You didn't read my response then ? I'm hurt. I'm from England, btw. The English being ignored again...
from the moon USA looks like a pile of dirt. like Africa, like Australia .. like the UK but thats to tiny to see it from the moon.. but its dirt too..
I'm from Portugal and my idea of the USA isn't very favourable. I must admitt it does fascinate me, but that's because I love to meet new cultures. I'd love to travel through all your country. It does seem to have amazingly beautiful places. However, its extreme capitalistic system makes it a society based on the principle of kill or be killed and on the survival of the fittest. Besides, the typical American patriotism and cockiness are very annoying! lol Don't take me wrong, I'm not saying life in Portugal is much better (it's complete crap, actually), but there are bigger chances for the weaker ones to survive. I think most Europeans will think this way (even if our system is failing miserably, we still have universal health care and social security and that's something that kinda makes us feel a little bit more secure).
