I can relate as I had a dog that had "triggers" and might go nuts at times...but we loved each other. That you are able to socialize Buddy this much is really great.

My mother wouldn't tell the truth about her age if you gave her truth serum, probably. ;) Old people are also grumpy etc to EVERYONE basically. I speak from experience...I grew up around more old people than the average person.

I'm not saying that's a good thing. lol It just is. :) Old dude probably didn't think anything afterwards but he say a young man and a dog.

Sometimes life tortures you and you live a really, really, really long time.

^ true dat...and for those around you. :D

ps - I don't know what happened to the quote thingy above this, but its just too much for me to correct anything on this Anus laptop and touch pad

    but first for aerianne.....

this is my pumpkin patch...you cant see them but there is about 20 small pumpkins under there....massive yellow flowers you can pick and eat raw right there in the field...they taste same as a zucchini flower

in the back you can see my double fenced tomato patch.....double fenced because I caught dog peeing on the fence so I installed a second fence out of his pee range...beside the fence you can see the last shitty weed plant that has failed to sex....i'm thinking of feeding it to my hens

I found about 6 red cherry tomatoes so far this summer

Fixed, I have a bad habit of not reading what I wrote before submitting.

I hope it's that episode where Kramer can't taste his peaches, love that episode. Lol

    Well FUCK!!!!
It happened, Buddy got a hold of another dog this morning!
Luckily I was two steps behind him and was able to tackle him to the ground and make him let it go before any damage was done.
I was going to take him to the park and he was in his harness and leash, but the muzzle was in the car. I went and opened the car door while Buddy was in the house waiting. Well the screen door didn't latch correctly and a couple came walking by with two little dogs, and that was all it took, Buddy was out the door and on them in a second.
He managed to snag one of them by the hips and started to do the rag doll routine and I slammed him to the ground and forced him to let go.
The little doggy ran off with only a minor scratch, the guy walking the dogs was hysterical and insanely unreasonable, even when his wife got in his face 3 times and reminded him they have owned dogs that have done the same thing! She was calm and reasonable.

I am anticipating a vet bill for an exam. Luckily a neighbor was out front when it happened and he picked up the little dog and he told me there was nothing wrong at all except a small scratch.

Buddy is now on a time out.......and yes, he understands he is in trouble and why.

Things could get a lot worse for Buddy then a vet bill. You don't want him tabled as a "vicious" dog that needs to be put down. I am sensitive to that since I have a pit bull. I trust her fine but I don't trust the assumptions people are going to make about her and if they presue those assumptions the reputation of the breed does not help. But as someone who worked in animal care for a long time 2 dogs fighting is common and does not make one or the other aggressive necessarily. It just means they don't get along.

That there is only a slight scratch is not a good indicator when dealing with large and small dogs fighting. Most injuries are internal as the pressure of the grip and the shaking cause the damage rather than the mouth (tooth) rips. Hopefully the pressure and shaking has not caused internal issues and all involved are going to be just fine. Even the one on time out right now,.

Hell of a way to start a Sunday morning but also dogs are dogs and it does happen. :(

    newborn schedules are ridiculous.

old thin soft stretchy t-shirt cut apart makes a good swaddling blanket for hot weather.

mommy is breakfast, now mommy wants breakfast.

ordered the crib i want, should be here within a week, monday the 3rd at the latest, supposedly. munchkin wants to roll over, and im not messing around with the bassinet at that point. crib will be better. its a mini/ portable crib so it wont take up too much space. washing hand-me-down baby clothes today. need to clean and arrange drawers. he is cluster feeding at night, and napping hard during the day. hes supposed to eat every 2-4 hours, no longer than 4 hours between. and he doesnt care for breast milk from a bottle. we need to figure out a solution for that.

I think they would be hard pressed to label him vicious. He is fine with people in general, he just has issues with other animals, and that is actually a breed characteristic.
Plus when I take him out he is decked out so I can have complete control over him, and my neighbors have seen me walking him in harness and muzzle many times, often the responsibility of the owner is the determining factor.
This was a fluke that happened in less than 5 seconds and when I gave Buddy the command that means to stop and let go, he obeyed immediately.
But I know it would not have ended well if I wasn't right there, so now I have to adopt even stricter "rules" when we go out.

But yeah, this guy was acting as if I set the dog on them or something, he even refused to shake my hand when it was over.
His wife was perfectly fine and reasonable.

as I was replaying the incident in my head, I realized Buddy wasn't in agro mode, I think he viewed it as playing or something. When he goes agro his fur stands straight up along his back and he gets a very distinct growl going.
and he did release him when commanded, so I don't think he applied crushing force, but there is still the possibility of injury. Whenever he has gone at dogs his size or bigger, there is no question what his intentions are.
The little guy was walking/running down the street and didn't show any real signs of pain or distress when the lady was holding him, just scared, so who knows.

and I literally tackled Buddy before he could really do more than just grab the pooch. He was about to start shaking it, but I stopped him, and when I had him on the ground I commanded him to let go and he did.
The whole incident took maybe 3 seconds.

luckily Buddy doesn't have any cracked ribs or anything, I slammed him pretty hard.
