The sun set about 5 degrees north of where is has ever set last month the next day it was about 7 degrees south of last position I couldn't believe what I was seeing

My girlfriend was here and I pointed it out. it was easily visible because I look out on a series of
Olympic peaks the sun goes down between the peaks That day the sun was on the wrong side of a peak. I looked around to see if anyone else was seeing it but all I found was stuff about the magnetic pole. I'm really dumbfounded as to what could cause that effect.
